I definitely agree with the free and fluid part. They should not fear making mistakes. Things are improving slowly, but I think he's making it too hard on himself unnecessarily.

Completely agree. Mick’s unwillingness to change himself holds his teams back. Its evident and transparent. Too much “ I CONTROL” instead of maybe allowing some other minds to participate in the coaching philosophy. Ive been saying for years we need some new assistants but i think Mick LOVES his current puppeteer approach.

Another wonderful night of substitution patterns from Mick. SMFH.

Sidenote: anyone watch Mick during the game? Finger pointing, foot stomping and calling players over to get berated, turning to assistants EVERY time a bad play/ foul occurs.....now multiply what you saw tonight by 10+ years. Its no wonder we havent had a legit PG or Center since 2012. Who wants to deal with this persona?

Our starters need to play 30+ mins per game and be left in regardless of mistakes. Otherwise, put another 1st round exit notch on the belt! This brand of basketball is BORING.

Its actually been going on since the 90's, nothing has changed in that regard

Please explain to me how you think a schedule gets made? Also do you think our budget and venue have anything to do with how we scheduled this year?
Waite I respect you a lot, and I know you were asking Cheer. But I think what people want is to sprinkle some medium level games in. I know budget comes into play, but I don't think we are too good for a home and home with some teams.

We are NOT too good for a home and home with some top 150 RPI teams. One sweet 16 in 12 years is proof of that. In addition to fan experience, it would also help our players understand what it takes to win in tough situations. Waltzing into an arena and sleep walking through ark pb and cleve st wont do anyone good come March. Everyone plays cupcakes, i get that. But NO ONE plays more than we do (see 319th ranked SOS)

OOC sos last season? 28.

there has been a growing shift to change it, last year was proof of that, but this year was just a bad spot money and place to play wise.

and its extremely unfortunate that it happens in a season where we likely have our best team.

ZCat it's not that I don't want a more challenging schedule. My point was this year with the renovation there may have been other factors contributing to the problem.

Absolutely!!

Nor should it. Him and one of his mentors have done very well employing accountability into their coaching style. It's amazing to me the amount of people who use a double standard. If he sat over there and didn't react at all people would criticize him for that. His players respect him and play hard for him. Something that is mentioned in just about every telecast. Trying to act like his coaching style is a impediment to the progress of the team is laughable. It is why we are succeeding. Players come here because of his coaching.

I imagine the 19k dollars we have to pay for each home game at nku affects the quality of buy games we could afford.
