I would be very surprised if this is accurate. Gaines understood he was a project when he came to UC.

look what sitting out for a year did for jaquon parker and sk. those situations should give gaines motivation to do better plus if im not mistaken gaines didnt play much basketball before high school. he is a "project" player

Parker never sat out a year...He just had a bad year.

But Gaines already used up one year for a redshirt so unless he transfers to DII then he'd have to sit out another year.

I have heard the opposite about him, that he is very willing to learn the game. He is still very raw. I think no game time after 2/11 more has to do with shortening the rotation for the stretch run, and going with the veterans more so than being uncoachable. Then again I am not at practices, so I cannot say definitively.
