Only 10 games left in the regular season! Time to make our move. Here's the remaining schedule:

@UConn 1/28
South Florida 2/4
@Memphis 2/6 (noon road game after a Thursday night game)
@Central Florida2/9
East Carolina 2/13
@Tulsa 2/18
UConn 2/20
@East Carolina 2/27
@Houston 3/3
SMU 3/6

*4 of the next 6 on the road
*5 games vs teams currently in the top 5 of the AAC

At 15-6, we may we need to go 8-2 or better to feel completely safe. We can still get into the AAC race if we can start knocking off the good teams. We can't get tripped up @UCF or @ECU, and we obviously can't lose home games.

MUST wins (bad loss and really makes you think we won't get an at-large)
USF
@UCF
ECU
@ECU

if we win the above and sweep UConn, I'll feel good.

We've forced ourselves into a "MUST" win at home vs. SMU. That is a signature win that we need badly. No way in hell can we lose that game, especially with it being senior night. I'm beyond tired of losing these big home games. The coach, the players, and the fans must make sure that one is a win. Hopefully, what we do between now and then won't negate the significance of that victory.

The VCU win has looked better and better lately.
The Butler home loss has looked worse and worse.

Thanks for posting this one Jake. Lots of meaningful basketball games to be played. Like to go 3-1 at least over the next 4. As You highlighted that quick turnaround game will be tough.

Good breakdown Jacob. I think we have to minimally go 8-2 to feel somewhat safe. Anything more losses than 2 and we might have to win the conference tourney. The final 10 games is surely no cake walk.

There are too many good P5 schools that just as many losses as us but have better quality wins. We will be the one American team this year that gets snubbed. Our conference holds no respect.

Games that worry me are:
@Memphis, that is really a 11 am tip time local time. Memphis will want revenge and that isn't an easy team to sweep with all their offensive talent

@Houston its a game we can't afford to lose. Houston typically plays us tough but we always seem to edge a victory over them. They will be hungry to beat us

@Central Florida-We never play too well there. Its also a short turnaround from the Memphis game.

Both UConn games: These two games worry me only because they are two games we could lose. I don't take any home game for granted anymore since we have had a lot of home L's this year. I know our guys will be ready to play them. I will feel a lot better if we are able to win on the road this Thursday.

agree. getting home 8-2 will not be a cake walk

Sad to say it but IMO we will lose 3 of the next 10 and finish with 9 losses like I said at the beginning of the year. We will lose one of the Uconn games, at Memphis and either at Houston or smu at home....

The way I see it is we have 4 tough games/battles left
Uconn x 2
@memphis (u never know with them, talent is there)
Smu
If we want to be tournament team and actually win some games no other game should really be that close or tough. I think we should handle @houston easily if we truly have turned a corner (we will know more about if we actually have after Thursday). But this Thursday is pretty close to a must a win, a loss puts us on the outside looking in, a win would be huge momentum and confidence. We absolutely need to come out firing and win this game. Got to have it

Hard to say what's going to happen in these next 10 games. I'm hoping 8-2 at the worst.

The main guy for Tulsa had a cold night shooting the ball when we played them. We still can't forget about them.

I think a win at uconn would be huge, but if we lose I don't think it will totally kill us, especially if we win out or finish 8-2.
