people were saying curtis unfollowed all uc stuff on twitter or instagram or w/e it is the kids do these days.

Yeah it could be one of those things where he doesn’t realize it still says it in his info and he just forgot to take it down but it does still say UC commit on it.

I could understand Curtis wanting to see where else he could go. All the coaches that recruited him are gone. Wouldn’t blame him at all

If brooks transfers I’m predicting st joes, he is good friends with Charlie Brown(there best player)

Perhaps pro basketball is not what he wants. Or maybe he knows things about some other guys on the team. Johnson, Curtis, Cumberland etc.

Too much to speculate on. I'm going to wait and see this play out and take it from there. If we lose a few I hope we can get some good transfers or I will just enjoy the season watching how a new coach goes about their business.

If the best we have returning is Scott and Williams...we aren't going to be very good but I still want to see how Brannen operates.

I think Cumberland is one of the most likely to stay. He is not getting drafted. Really no where for him to go. Doesn’t mean he can’t leave but I don’t think it’s likely.

Assuming it's NBA or bust I would agree but he doesn't gain much by coming back either. Unless he feels Brannen can up his game. It also depends a lot on whether he likes the college atmosphere or if he wants to start earning money somewhere.

If he comes back I think we can fill in the roster with decent options on the transfer market. We will need some guards if Johnson and Curtis opt out but I am trying to figure out why they would with all the playing time that would be available.

I think Moore is going to get his chance one way or the other!

I think he has more to gain by staying. I’m all for guys leaving to make money but if he left now he would probably be in the D league for years. You don’t make much there and no one comes to games. If he stays, would get a lot of pub, pre season all American, conference player of the year, etc.. and can improve his game somewhat. Would be more likely to get drafted next year

I would suspect NBA looks for guys they think they can improve their game in one way or another. One thing is for sure...you can't really change the potential athleticism of the player much or their age.

If it's ball skills or shooting I would think the NBA guys would take a stab at a player they think has obvious potential for improvement. Especially if they have the athleticism. SK was an all american and had to work his butt off just to get a chance to make a few million. Cumberland doesn't have that type of work ethic...but they are a similar mold.

In recent years we have seen some upperclassman get drafted. The draft will always favor “potential”, especially the higher draft picks. But the mid-to-later picks, “better teams”, are looking for players that can help now. Jacob Evans is an example. Do I think he this will happen? I have no idea but I think it is more likely next year. This year, we know he isn’t getting drafted. I also think he is better than SK. I think he’s a better passer and overall offensive player.

Also, being an all time great at any school means something. Not sure if that is something he cares about but it is definitely something that he could gain.

Why do you say this though?

If he left today or this time next year, his road to the nba is hard regardless. College just makes him a year old and constrains the amount of time he can practice getting better

If Jarron wants to be a pro, there a no difference between. Leaving now and leaving next year. His only reason to find back would be to leave a legacy in college of which it pays you nothing.

Also.. with brooks gone, talks of lojo maybe leaving, & Curtis out, uc is most likely going to suck next year. Espn will recognize that and hide us on espn+ and all the sudden jarron is the best player on a middling AAC team.

If I’m him. I leave and focus on nothing but basketball. The dude has the IQ & skill to be a 2-way player. If jP macura is... so is jarron.

I’d only stay if UC offers an Insurance policy on him. They may not want to

So you agree....?

If someone gives him a draft guarantee (very unlikely), or if the league indicates he has a shot at the first round (also unlikely) he should bolt and never look back. If not, he would need to weigh what's important to him. He could play somewhere professionally for sure. PJ Tucker spent 5 years in Israel, Greece, Italy, Germany, and the Ukraine. He is now, at 33, a starter on a good NBA team and a valuable player (and a guy not entirely unlike Cumberland). The sooner you start down the professional road, the more years you have to possibly get paid - Tucker was 29 when he finally got a serious NBA deal.

Apparently someone on twitter claims to know for a 100% fact that LoJo and Brooks are transferring and Samari is asking for his release. That same person has been hours ahead on breaking Bearcat news the last couple of weeks.

Heartbreaking.

Out of those 3 I'll be most disappointed in seeing LoJo go if he does. Was really looking forward to watching him develop, thought he would be special. A Devan Downey moment for sure.

Seems like the new coaches style fits his style of play amazingly as well. Thought he might turn him into a Jevon Carter type player.

It's early and I may be overreacting here, but what little faith I had in Brannen is just about gone. I have this sneaky suspicion we better get used to the type of player he recruited at NKU. The 2 star at best, gritty, not huge amount of raw talent type player. If so, this fan base is going to lose their patience at an alarming rate.

Yeah, might want to wait for someone to actually leave, or for Brannen to sign his first recruit, before we make any sweeping judgments.

good lord. step back in off the ledge. maybe at least wait until they are officially gone, but even then, this is an extreme take.

sucks to lose brooks if he goes, but Lojo might not have fit brannens system as he's definitely not a shooter. curtis seemed like a great get for us but at the end of the day is a fringe top 150 guy. if we can't survive losing a guy like that, we have much bigger problems.

things might not go as well next year as they otherwise could have, but its important to remember mick left us for a "better" job, so it could be a short term negative but long term positive.
