I'd say from the reactions of the players, Jarron is leaving whether it be NBA or overseas. Nysier is almost certainly gone, lots of chatter that LoJo is going to transfer and same for Samari asking for his release.

This could get ugly and quick, we are going to find out really quickly how well Brannen can recruit. He is going to have to almost go in cold with alot of either grad transfers or late HS commits and try to swing them for UC.
Get two PGs with guaranteed 30mins for them both we'll be good. We have decent front court depth. We literally have zero guards. Neither Williams or Moore can dribble

I think it's safe to say he's gone. It's either gonna be a part time job in the G league or overseas but I think we've just said farewell to JC. Best of luck man, it was fun. Sad thing is this is probably the second domino of the 4 in the worst turn of events I've seen in quite some time.

Bohn gets a big fat F for his handling of basketball team so far. Did he sit down with team and listen to their opinions on coaching search? He listened to Luke so don't see why not returning or former players. Just seemed like a good ole boys move from beginning. Writing was on wall all year that Mick was on fence. He should've been better prepared to handle this matter. We don't even have one confirmed assistant in place. Lol aau is going on right now without us present. Rather pathetic if you ask me

Agreed. Seems like he was more than willing to dismantle this thing just to get Mick outta here. Obviously nothing is 100% final yet but the writing is on the wall that it's back to the basement...this time in a mid major. Great look for recruiting.

I actually think brannen go run circles around Mick in recruiting. Mick knew how relate to players he recruited and get them run through fire for him. Ok we get a top 50, his he go play hard for this coach? Players been at practice for a week now and still want out? Get your players that fit your system coach just make sure they here for right reasons

Fingers crossed.

Samari following the coach who recruited him to VT? Lots of chatter...

We have throw house at Samari. Whatever is legal we need push it all way. Somebody needs start some Samari stay websites or pony up money out some billboards up around Xenia. We can't afford lose local Mr Ohio at all. Every year we need a top 5 player from Ohio on team.

He would have probably done the same thing if Cronin were here. I don't know why this changes things much. I don't know anyone who has talked to Jarron that has said he is going pro no matter what.

We still have Williams and Scott. Maybe Brooks and maybe LoJo. I am sure the players talk and perhaps know what the other plans to do but nobody knows what grad transfers we might get. Arguably a grad transfer would be a better option for one year than Lojo as a soph although long term I want LoJo. Arguably a grad transfer would be better than a frosh Curtis but I would want Curtis long term.

I think we can fill in somehow someway for Brooks with our own roster. But even here I think we could look for a transfer if we want.

Short term this could all be addition by subtraction. Long term it's not optimal. It's not easy getting high 3 star and low 4 star guys to commit to the AAC. So losing Johnson and Curtis would hurt long term. But then again if coach wants shooters on the perimeter in his system...just maybe the long term problems could be addressed with recruiting better system fits.

Gonna have to wait and see what Brannen does and how it turns out before we call it a bust.

I agree with you that he would have tested the waters either way, but I think he's more likely to accept a G league or overseas spot this year without Cronin here. I could be wrong but that's just my hunch.

This board is in major overreaction mode currently... its wild.

Nothing has happened yet. Nothing.

Do I expect the entire team back next year... nope. but lets hold off on doomsday scenarios.

Well at the very least, we have no coaching staff. That alone is worrisome, let alone all the other possible shit outcomes.

It’s more likely they(Cumberland/brooks/Lojo/Curtis)all comeback than they all leave imo

First time poster here. Started following da Cats back in 1988. Have been reading posts on this site for years and have enjoyed everyone’s opinions. I felt compelled to jump in now. At this point, there’s no clarity on who’s staying and who’s leaving. Whatever happens, we’ll be fine. Bearcat nation has experienced worse with post Huggins. We may have a rough year or two but we’ll bounce back. It’s way to early to start throwing darts at our new coach...please give him a chance.
