Drake's first game is tonight versus Kennesaw State.

Drake University sophomore guard D.J. Wilkins has been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Preseason Team. This kid was having a good season last year, then broke a bone which ended things. So, he's still bouncing back. In their exhibition game, he scored seven points, whereas all the other starters were in double figures.

The sophomore center Liam Robbins could make some noise. But overall these guys don't seem particularly strong in any one area. I'd say they'll work it inside and drive a lot. Drake, one of their league's two defending regular-season champions, was picked preseason to finish fifth. This is not a deep team right now, but they are competitive.

Drake won their season opener over Kennesaw State 86-55.

D.J. Wilkins was their top scorer with 19 pts, 4 reb, 4 ast. The team shot a whopping 58% from three.
