I think he will be a 1,000 point scorer easily. In the first press conference of the year, Coach Cronin talked about Cumberland being very well coached and intelligent. You can see that. For his first game, I'd say he inserted himself into the action pretty well. I'm expecting big things from him. He just has that basketball instinct. And he's a big dude for a freshman.

I agree. It will be nice to see his confidence grow as the season progresses. I look forward to seeing him use his size to his advantage and going to the hoop.

I will say, I've watched a lot of videos of him. Last night was the first time seeing him in person. His shot (form) looks way worse live than in videos. Lol. Same with Washington as well.

I agree. I'm hoping he can produce similar results to Evans last year. Him and Jacob playing together should be dangerous together.

He is talented but VERY slow. Kid looks like he could be a LB. Hell, he could probably start on Flubs 2016 roster.

In all seriousness, he will be as good as Cronin develops him. Highly rated recruits dont just walk on and do it themselves unless you are a McDonalds AA or Dontonio Wingfield. He looks very much the part of an unreal player. The scary part? Micks history with player development

Cronin isnt bad at developing guards. From SK to cash to caupain. His real weakness has been developing bigs. I think yancy was the only one that improved a lot during his time here.

Yancy didn't improve until the last month of so of his Sr season. Right about the time he stopped listening to Mick and started taking matters into his own hands.

That was right around the same time Rashad Bishop told the players to stop listening to coach if they wanted to win and Mick kicked Rashad off the team for like a day. Incidentally enough, it was also the only time we've been to the sweet 16, right after we stopped listening to coach.

I agree about the guards comment though and I think Cumberland will eventually be a very solid player.

Didnt make the sweet 16 with Rashad Bishop on the team....

Yancy was a one-and-done, sure-fire, NBA player and 5-star recruit when he got here. He played 4 years and never sniffed the NBA, nor was he ever a 1st team all-league player. Probably not a good example of someone that improved a lot under Mick.

Correct. However, UCBearcats is accurate. He just applied that statement to the wrong year. This DID happen during our run to the NCAA win against Missouri and subsequent loss to Nat Champs UCONN in the 2nd rd

So he isnt correct. He was saying the year we decided to stop listening to the coach was the year we went to the sweet 16. That is wrong.

We can argue semantics all day long........either way we stopped listening to coach and won games. I bet if we did it again we'd win more.

Just figured you wanted to get your facts straight as you continue to push your agenda. You seem to like telling everyone that they dont know what they are talking about. Nevertheless carry on, I'll be here to correct the record if you need me...

I'm wrong every once in a while but I'm not here to be a told you so guy. I'm just here to talk UC sports and hopefully push an agenda that results in what's best for UC. I'm here because I want to #makeucgreatagain

You're either part of the solution or you're part of the problem.

Now let's get back to Cumberland, this thread is getting off track.

I like Cumberland and think Mick will develop him into a solid player, not great, but solid.

Love the self-acceptance of being a message board watchdog! You may have found your niche!

I thought I liked Cumberland too, but L-T is our official talent evaluator and he doesn't seem to think much of him so....

Lol....why can't anyone ever seem to get what I said right? I'm not going to post it again, so you'll just have to read it again.

Justin Jackson made the best improvement of any Big under Mick's watch imo
