Unless he goes to UCLA (which I don’t think he’s better than 5 star Moses Brown at UCLA) he will have a different coach. I don't understand why he would rather have a different coach and none of his teammates instead of a different coach but surrounded by his teammates. Especially his senior year. It doesn’t make any sense and seems childish for the foster mom to come out and say it that way.

You more childish for saying "foster mom". Have some respect

well thats why you are you and he is he. your not supposed to understand and lets be honest you want whats best for the program not the kid. I dont mean that in a negative way but am I wrong? We want kids to stay we dont want them to leave and at the end of the day its a selfish thought but its what fans do im also guilty of it just for wanting them to stay not knowing the other options etc. I think he ends up staying but we also have no idea what other connections they made during their recruiting with other coaches etc. I just think this idea of judging kids and their families for trying to figure out whats best for themselves is just shady I always have

If it’s true about nas it’s a shame, he’s improved maybe the most by any player in the Cronin era and he would be the best center in the aac this year, loved his attitude and personality, wish all the best for the kid no matter what he decides to do.

his handlers need to take a step back and realize this is still the best place for him. there likely isn't a better team to go to. we'll be in the top 20 and ready to go.

and his offensive stats are likely to increase. it really seems strange anybody with any offensive skill at all would want to leave now. I could see a guy like nsoseme feeling like he's going to be left out though.

These situations are really tough on the kids in the program. You would hope that the adults in their lives would help settle things down, bring patience and help the kid though the tough time...allowing him to gather all necessary information before making a decision. Not having spoken to the coach before making this statement is very disappointing and seems like a knee jerk reaction.

I hope brooks stays. Kid is a beast as a defender and this team needs him. He also has room to grow on offense and the new coach seems more likely to be successful in helping him get there.

I don’t remember a single game where the players wore “Cronin” across their chest. They may have come for a coach, but I would hope a senior would be staying for his teammates, the fans, the university, and the city of cincinnati.

I hope he stays. I know it is best for the team and the program. I tend to believe it would be best for him as well.

Was thinking diarra is going to benefit from brannen style for sure

who says she actually speaks for him? did any of your parents or guardians speak for you when you were 21 and in college?

That's a good point. I think him being away from the team when it happened is what caused this. I'm betting Brannen didn't call him cause he was at a funeral.

I have high hopes that Brooks will realize this is the best place for him. We need him. He will play a ton. He will get his touches. He will be a defensive monster and showcase his rebounding/defensive capabilities again WHILE having an offensive coach help open up that game for him. This is a win-win for Brooks and the Bearcat team. No way I'd mess with that formula if I had dreams of playing professionally. Can you imagine if he transfers and doesn't mesh with coach/team right away? Could waste a year.

Doesn’t help that temple and st joes are going to have 2 new head coaches this year that he could know from playing in philly in his youth I’m not sure he can play for temple with the ncaa rules going to another school in your conference, but he could play for st. Joes if he wanted to stay close to home.

You need to take a step back and realize you have absolutely no way of knowing what "the best place" for him or any other player is. Good gravy, how could you possibly pretend to know what's best for someone you've never met, who means nothing to you beyond his ability to win or lose basketball games for your favorite team? It is condescending as hell.

Nysier Brooks is an adult and has full agency. He will do whatever it is he feels is best, just like you would. His family and friends will advise him and he will listen, or not, to the extent that he wishes. If he makes a decision about his own life that you do not personally agree with, I would suggest you consider how it would feel to you if some stranger who saw you as a tool to advance their own happiness believed they were better qualified than you were to decide your path.

If he's got personal issues outside of basketball or issues with his teammates then he's gotta do what he's gotta do.

But if we are strictly talking about basketball and winning potential and playing time, which are usually the 2 big issues when it comes to basketball, UC is the best place for him or any potential big man grad transfer that can't go to one of the top programs.

Whatever he decides to do it should be a well thought out decision, not an emotional one made out of hurt feelings.

Most kids wouldn't go to college if parents didn't tell them or pay for it. Unless you was poor from horrible childhoods, parents was more involved than the kids. Also handlers have spent thousands on their kids careers. We haven't spent one dime. We get have opinions but the people who have paved way need shut up?
