Cincinnati Bearcats freshman guard Lance Stephenson scored only two points on 1-of-4 shooting in 11 minutes in Sunday's overtime loss to Marquette.
In his last two games, Stephenson, one of the top high school players in the country last year, has scored a total of six points and has made 2 of 9 shots.
“He was struggling to get in the flow,” said UC coach Mick Cronin, “and other guys were playing better…When you’re a guard, it’s hard to live up to the expectations that people set for him when you struggle to make shots.”
WHERE WAS GATES? UC forward Yancy Gates scored 14 points, his best offensive output since Jan. 9, but played only 22 minutes and was not on the floor during overtime or for the final 7:07
