Moral victories now? Against a 5-5 AAC squad? What in the hell has happen to this fanbase?

It's been bunGaLized. Just make the playoffs, and that's good enough to make NO CHANGES, and stay the same, year after year! 100% Embarrassing!

I.E Marvin Lewis, and Mick Cronin, birds of a feather, as they like to say!:(

Where are people getting that Evans had a good game? He went 1 for 9 with his only make coming in the last like 20 seconds. He only had 3 rebounds and 1 assist.

He didn't. But he played with effort all game. Shaq, Ellis, Cobb, and others did not

Kevin Johnson 13 minutes 0-3 FG 0 PTS 0 REB 0 AST 0 STL 0 BLK 2 TO 4 PF

Shaq Thomas 11 minutes 0-1 FG 0-2 FT 0 PTS 1 REB 0 AST 0 STL 0 BLK 2 TO

I mean these guys are veterans. It's 1 step forward 2 steps back with these guys. If Shaq was hurt, he should not have been playing at all. But these stat lines can never happen. But they happen a lot. That's a problem. You can't have guys out there who can't be counted on.

-They doubled us in offensive rebounds (12 to 24) that's awful an pathetic.
-we tried to go on the road with two players. Outside troy and gary was anyone else really there
-deberry should start over Ellis, Ellis plays weak on defense, and i honestly cringe when he gets the ball on offense
-Kevin, what do you add? Just decent defense? No real offensive skill from him at all...none
- evans where did your shot go? Man can't buy a three these days
----today was ugly one of the hardest halves of basketball I've ever seen but every time u get real down on this team they surprise you and reel you back in, I'm not giving up yet (I've see glimpses of what could be and that's what ask today so hard). We will make the tournament, so we just need to move forward. We can still make noise when we get in. Just wishi saw more consistently. Gary and troy have great tho

I've been drinking since noon. I haven't read any comments since the end of the game. Let's be honest. We lost that game. We should have won. End of story. We had our chances. Been that way all year. Everything else is just chit chat.

Lawson was the best player on the floor today by a lot.
Even down 15 i thought we would be in it at then end, because, Pastner.
These games are so close, make a extra free throw or one of the wide open 3s and we likely win.
Shaq, KJ, Moore Cobb and Jenifer were all liabilities today, even Ellis was to an extent. These guys have got to get more consistent

Either you support the direction this program is heading or you don't. After a win you'd think we're the #1 team in the country and after a loss you'd think we're like Miami OH.

Most of you don't like my stance but at least it's unwavering. The wishy washy nature of this board is nuts. We lost to Memphis on the road, the sky isn't falling. Just like we weren't on the road to the Final 4 after beating UConn.

What we are is on the road to a low seed and a first weekend knockout. Just like always under this average coaching staff. But hey, that's clearly good enough for some who post here. For me it's not. The rest of you fence riders should pick a side.

We just get exposed away from home. That's the big picture forming this year to me. We always have 2+ upperclassman rotation guys who don't give us much, if anything. It's a "you're only as strong as your weakest link" kind of thing. It makes me nervous that as of now, half the team next year is Jenifer, Johnson, Scott, Moore, and Brooks. Are there 3 rotation players in there? Until we can have capable players across the entire lineup, it:s hard to expect to not bow out early with a 50 something point struggle.

Caupain and Clark are starting to turn it up, Evans is a solid rotational player currently. The inconsistency of Johnson, Ellis, Cobb and Thomas is what kills this team. When those 4 play well, we could make it to the second weekend. When they don't, we are an NIT team.

When I read Cobb or someone talking about how tough it was to shoot at FedEx, I knew it was trouble. Psyched out before they even took the floor.
As I've said quite a bit recently, it's a make or miss game. We missed wide open looks all day. Some badly.

On the other hand, one could argue that most of our guys had the chance to dribble hard into the middle and create good offense. They chose to take the longer looks. This is where Shaq and KJ destroy an offense - by hanging out at the 3 point line. Cobb too, but he's a higher percentage shooter.

Ellis is Jekyll and Hyde. All depends on his mood. Evans needs to assert himself, period.

All that said, there's a lesson to be learned. They lost that game because they stopped playing defense for the final 10 minutes of the first half. Frustration from missing easy shots on offense, I'm sure...but that's no excuse.

Ironic that we won the high scoring game and Memphis won the rock fight. I do think some luck went the Tigers' way today - quite a few loose balls ping ponged right into Memphis hands. But, they didn't play well enough to win in the first half. Better sack up and get aggressive or they could lose another one Tuesday.

Shaq had more turnovers than points and rebounds combined. Been said many times - wish the kid nothing but the best, but why he continues to start is beyond me. Can't finish at the rim. 2 footers are flat. Guess the only thing that will keep him off the floor is graduation. Sigh.

Jacob 1-9 today, but 5-6 from the line. Shot the most FT on the team today. Take it to the hole, Jacob.

Precisely. It's no more complicated than this. We can beat anyone in the country if the supporting cast plays well. The problem is 3 of those players are starters. When you have that much inconsistency coming from key spots on your roster the result is mediocrity. Which we have experienced this season. The supporting cast has been abysmal for the majority of the Cronin tenure outside of the sweet 16 team. That's what happens when you only get 3 star players. The thing that chaps me about this team is how unlikable they are. The inconsistency. Ellis's bullshit. Deberry choosing when to play hard. Low Bball IQ. Lack of any resemblance of toughness. Yet one of the most all around talented teams Cronin has had. I remember the SK, Rubles, Jackson team and we all knew they couldnt score. We knew they would have trouble advancing in March. Yet I found myself rooting my ass off for them. They defined toughness. One of the most likable teams in recent memory. Sad to say it but I will be happy to turn the page on this group of seniors regardless of how the rest of the season plays out.

It is frustrating watching this KState game. They lost Foster, Nigel Johnson, Jevon Thomas, Malik Harris, Tre Harris, and Gipson from last year's team. Now they have a team with JUCO guys, a Maine transfer, and 3 stars...rebuilt like we were last year...and here they are about to beat the #1 team and they will probably pass us in KenPom. That's bullcrap. They don't care about basketball at all, and they can rebuild in 1 year and be as good as our "most talented team" in a decade? I can't believe how depleted our roster looks after games like today. The "supporting cast" is the issue 100%. Players 4-10 on a typical Cincinnati team these days are guys who simply can't be counted on. I finally gave up on Shaq...right before his 18 and 17 point games. Then Waite joked about if I was back in on him and I said "Until he has 1 point in 2 games again". Well, here we are. Johnson turns a corner a tiny bit, but then has a game today that is as bad in 13 minutes as if one of us was out there. I hate to sound harsh bc I know these are team oriented guys, but we can't have so many guys who have a rock bottom that literally means they don't accumulate a single stat.

In the last 2 years, we have had 15 AAC games away from home. We have only scored 60+ in regulation in 3 of those 15 games...and we have never scored more than 63.

It should have happened at least 10 games ago but Evans should be in the starting lineup and you deal with his lumps and hope by end of season he grows. The talent is there. It isn't there for Thomas and KJ. They just aren't good yet Mick keeps trotting them out there.

Yikes! That is just ridiculous. It's the damn AAC for crying out loud.
Like you have said, it's the lack of consistency this year. There's no excuse for it. I just hope we get into the tourney and play competitive basketball.
It's sad, I never thought I'd be making that statement at this point in the season.

Never going to happen with KJ. Mick is in love with his defense.
