Senior Day for Sanders. Big win for Memphis @ UConn tonight. They are 18-12 overall and 10-7 in the conference. Hopefully we have a rockin' crowd and tons of energy. We gotta get this win. I think we'll be -6.

Was there a captain this year? And if so, was GeLawn one? I get this RDAIV feeling with GeLawn

Ralph David Abernathy IV, starting RB on the football team that was named captain and then left the team early in the year and now is a grad transfer at Tennessee.

Last year mostly every game I mentioned that guyn was done with basketball and I bet my life he wouldn't play this year. When a player makes or misses a big shot or shot of any kind and shows ZERO emotion, that lets me know you really want be somewhere else.

Team had 20 turnovers in the first game against the Tigers
I want a beat down like the first Temple game. I have always hated Memphis and one of my favorite memories is UC beating them I believe 4 times one season while Huggs was here. If I remember right UC won both regular season games, in the conference tournament, and the Elite 8.

LOVE READING BEARCAT TALK EVERYDAY!

Yes, Jeff that was the FF team, 1992. Beat Memphis 4x. I was in college back then, can still remember so many details from that game They had Anfernee Hardaway, but could not beat us. Went to all the tourney games. Great times!!! I feel this team can go Sweet 16 if things fall right.

Like the basketball through the rim?

No Nichols

No Nichols is great news for the Cats...he killed it when they trashed UC there...18 points, 8 boards, 3 blocks, 3 assists
That was one of Ellis' worst games ever...fouled out in 21 minutes with 2 pts. & 3 to's - don't expect to see that again

I think UC gets big-time revenge in this one -- in a reversal - UC 63-50

This team is second in the league in shooting percentage. It isn't as bad a shooting team as some make it out to be. Pace and turnovers contribute to the scoring as well as having the number 6 defense in the country which forces opponents to play deep into the shot clock when they're on offense.

UC PRIMARY 8 PLAYER SHOOTING %

ELLIS 57%
CLARK 55%
DEBERRY 54%
CAUPAIN 47%
THOMAS 46%
COBB 39%
JOHNSON/SANDERS 38%

Regardless of how many points we've scored, our key for the last 3.5 games has been how we have started. The 2nd half of the Houston game we immediately got back in it, we went up I believe 18-8 against UCF, 25-6 against Tulane, and 25-13 vs Tulsa. Hopefully this continues with the crowd and Senior Day activities tomorrow. As hard as it is for us to come back from down double digits, I can't imagine how much that would suck for our opponents going against our defense.

That's about what is expect the efficiency order to be. But contrary to perception this isn't as bad a shooting team as it at times appears. Honestly when I heard they were second in league field goal percentage I was shocked.

Completely agree with you my friend. That turnovers and giving up offensive rebounds kills this team.

They take pretty good shots but to be fair they also don't get up that many attempts (play at a really slow tempo and turn the ball over at a high rate).

FG Att per game
14-15: 49.5
13-14: 55.7
12-13: 57.7
11-12: 59.3

A big part of that is the league absolutely sucks at offense. 1 team in the top 85 in the country in AdjO. 3 teams in the top 160.

Uc has an eFG% of 52.3 in conference play. That would be right around 55th in the country if it were our season %.

On the season eFG% is 50.2. That's the highest of the Mick Cronin era and the only one over 50 since the 2004 team.
