They are 1-2
Lost 76-60 @ UNC
Won 123-65 against College of Faith
Lost 65-45 @ Creighton

Haven't seen a line. I'd guess we'll be -9ish. They've already played 2 good teams so we better get ready on a quick turnaround. We're either going to rally after Sunday and turn a corner or take a loss...

Interesting enough that we used to talk about "moral victories" from a loss being a thing, but now moral losses from a win? My brainmeat hurts.

Well, considering we were favored -19 points last game I don't think any of that matters. This team doesn't have the attitude and toughness to win this game by more than 10 points. (If win at all) I will say the final will be:
UC:62
NC Cent: 58

While I'm not confident at all with this pick I just can't pick them to lose yet.

I'll play it safe and say 58-48 Cats. Pleeeease give me a glimmer of hope at offense. At this point I'd rather win 85-80 than 52-35.

What's the number one thing people are looking for tonight? Improved post entry passes? Fewer turnovers? Better 3 pt shooting? More FT attempts? Something else?

Just remember, the sky is falling everyone!

3 games into the season and I don't care about all this superficial stuff. All I care to see is the team get better as the year goes on. I fully expect they will especially with all the inexperience they have. There is offensive talent on this team but it is young. There will be ups and downs.

This is going to sound general and obvious, but just a more fluent offense. I don't have a huge problem with guys missing 3s. If they're open and miss, I still think it was a good possession, because those shots will eventually fall. Obviously, that depends on who takes it (i.e. Shaq shouldn't shoot another one all year.) I want to see good, smart passing, good ball movement, and not waiting till the shot clock is under 10 to run a play. Lastly, if you're open, SHOOT THE DAMN BALL. Quit passing up open looks to either dish to someone else 30 feet from the hoop, or to crash recklessly at the rim.

I think Terry Nelson said it well the other day when he said something like "Sometimes you are the best option". Obviously for most teams the constant passing and ball movement is the hard part, especially with a bunch of guys who haven't played together. I'd just like the guys to start understanding when to stop looking for what's next in the play, and realize that sometimes they have position to take it to the hoop or pull up for a short jumper. I don't mind guys like Quadri taking their time with the ball but there has to be a purpose. He has gotten in deep a few times and spun to face the basket, but then just either loses the ball or makes a pass back out that forces us to set the offense back up. Guys also need to move better on the perimeter when the ball is in the post though bc that way when a guy does pass back out it should be to someone either spotting up to shoot or ready to quickly swing the ball around. I don't think it is just a UC problem, but feeding the post is such a foreign concept to a lot of these kids. It's almost like they don't understand why it is so important but once they do it they just stand around like the job is done. Little things like that will undoubtedly improve throughout the rest of the season. I just hope to see it little by little throughout the non conference slate.

Caupain, Ellis, and Clark lead the way. Sanders, Cobb, and KJ combine for 5 3s. Anyone know Guyn's status?

KJ gets going tonight

That would be nice! I am always rooting for KJ to break out and do well. I love seeing the local guys do well. I hope he gets back to being aggressive and driving to the hoop. He was really good at that last year and I think it will take the pressure off him for hitting 3's.

I think he will be good this season. Eventually our starting lineup will have 2 sophomores, 2 juniors and a freshman which bodes well for next year!

we need to get a few of our offensive weapons going. I think Mick tried that last game by going more uptempo which is a strength of Shaq. It seemed to have worked with TC who had a good game. KJ is just pressing. He knows the team needs him and he is trying to hard in my opinion. He'll get going. Cobb is a long range shooter, some nights their good some nights their off. Shaq and KJ need to help Ellis and TC offensively. Clark needs to keep boarding and getting some garbage points. Sanders knocking down some 3's would help as well.
