Waite, in time Fleck will get a Top P5 job. Not just any P5 job. Winning at UC is a better/quicker path than going to a place like Purdue. It's about the long-term...he's only 36 years old. And for Western Michigan, he has nothing left to prove there. He can only hurt his stock by returning.

*Also, do you what we're offering a new coach? The salary for Tuberville probably isn't what we're offering the new candidates.
I think your right that in time Fleck will get a P5 job. Why not this year. Why would he commit anywhere until he sees what else is out there. How about if he came here for a year and that job came next year and he left after 1 year?

My point on salary was TT made just over 2. Brohm made over 3 mil to take Purdue job. What will we have to pay here. What should we demand as a buyout to get a good up and comer to take on the job?

There is nothing else out there. Fleck isn't interviewing at Oregon. That does it for P5 jobs. It's us and Houston.

If Fleck left after 1 year, that probably means we won the AAC and would have a shot at a New Year's 6 Bowl. And we're even more attractive.

I hope your right but if I am him I would be leveraging myself to the best of my ability right now coming off a great season. Who knows if he'll be as hot a commodity after next year. If he comes here it will be because he didn't have a better offer.

That's the whole point! That's why I was so excited to be one of the schools hiring this off season.

You could say that about virtually any coach and any school. Most people go to where the best offer is, especially in coaching.

Lucky for us our offer isn't nearly as bad as many of our loyal fans seem to think it is.

Questions

How is the new coach going to win the AAC with TT recruits, since the recruiting has been so awful, you say? At one time, you were asking people to write Mike Bohn, or Bohnhead, as you called him, but now I see you don't take any responsibility for the firing of TT, all his assistants etc. You can't have it both ways. Do you take credit for TT leaving or do you not?

Probably so. I want to be a destination job not a stepping stone but I understand why we are not.

Matt Rhule to Baylor, that's a perfect scenario because it doesn't open up a more attractive job than UC.

My biggest fear at this point is that Oregon will take a Holzegren or a Fedora and we'll see Fleck take that spot over UC.

I thought Blake Anderson from Arkansas State was in forBaylor?

It was reported they were negotiating but apparently that was untrue. I read this morning that part of his contract at Ark St says he needs to get permission before discussing any offers. Baylor never formally asked for permission to speak to him.

I can't imagine a guy like Rhule going anywhere near Baylor. That place is toxic.

I know most of us read and post with our phones. At least my settings don't show the image the poster has chosen. Today I am reading from my laptop and saw your image. Do you know your image is still Mick Cronin. I just found that kinda funny. Nothing personal against you, just kinda funny when I was reading what you have below your post about him saying we will play faster every year LOL!
