Just kind of curious if anyone knows any games that we are for sure going to play OOC next season? All I know of right now is we will play Michigan @ UM... and we have a Thanksgiving Tourney down south and we will play Middle Tennessee and the winner of Creighton and Ole Miss. Does that sound right or am I forgetting something? Does anyone know of any scheduled games or any games/tourneys we are supposed to play? I thought I also heard somewhere that Mick was trying to get into a Tourney somewhere that featured Kansas and I think MSU in it... Did anyone else hear or see that somewhere?

playing at NC state will be a big game as well, Cronin said they are close to a home and home with indiana

Are you sure we are playing at Michigan next year? I still thought that was a little ways away.

I know for sure we play @Nebraska and @NC State next year, along with Middle Tennessee St and Creighton/Ole Miss next year. That counts as an exempt event we will play in next year (it will include 2 more buy games at home). Because of that, we will not be playing in a tournament featuring Kansas and MSU.

We will also almost definitely play Xavier. Not sure where though. Don't know any of the others.

You're right they play during the '15-'16 season. My bad

The earliest season we will play Michigan will be '15-16. That is still undetermined, but the home and home series will be completed between '15-16 and '17-18 I believe.

You are correct with the tournament with MTSU, Creighton, and Ole Miss. This will also include home games with N.C. Central and others like the event this year.

We have return games at N.C. State and at Nebraska. I want to say we have San Diego State next year too but could be wrong.

Yes i believe san diego st is coming to fifth third next year, very good game. Whats the status on the UNM contract was that just a two year series and is now over?

Yes. So recap: @Nebraska, @NC State, San Diego State, Middle Tennessee St, and Ole Miss/Creighton (possibly Xavier)

And the 2 buy games associated with the tournament, correct? Will the AAC be an 18-game schedule again next year? We are going to be playing some dreadful conference teams... definitely need to find a way to get 2 or 3 more quality games than what is already planned.

The two buy games are Eastern Illinois and NC Central. I do not know if the SDSU game is confirmed to be on for next year. I think they should continue the home-and-home with New Mexico (even if they lost both games) as well as try to get in an event at MSG or Barclays (like the Jimmy V). I also think they should do a home-and-home with Pittsburgh, both schools struggle to get big OOC games.

I don't think the SDSU game is on next year. It was originally reported that they asked out because their non-conference schedule was too strong given the conference they stayed in, but I believe Mick's brother said they will not becoming here next year.

I've heard that on this board before. If that's true, that's pretty sad, because:

A) The Mountain West is a respectable basketball conference, but nothing compared to the ACC, Big Ten, or old Big East. While they did have a tough non-conference schedule this year, it's nothing compared to what teams in the top leagues have to face in conference.

B) The only realignment SDSU was involved in was coming to the Big East. Which means they would have played Cincinnati anyway. Doesn't that mean the Cincinnati game must have been planned after they decided to stay in the Mountain West? And even if it wasn't, did they expect the Big East/AAC to be easier than the Mountain West?

Chad Brendel reporting that a home and home with VCU is in the works and will begin next year at home.

Hopefully San Diego State will still be on the schedule. It is shaping up to be a nice OOC. My guess is if UC makes a nice run in the tournament, they should get a nice game in MSG or Barclays next year too.

Neutral: Middle Tennessee State, Creighton/Ole Miss, Xavier?,Another P5 Opponent*
Home: VCU, San Diego State, NC Central, Eastern Illinois (or Xavier here)
Road: NC State, Nebraska

That would be 10 of the 13 games. If UC could avoid 3 RPI killers the OOC SOS should be solid.

Mick said after this year's game with Pitt it would be the last time they played for a bit.
