Off-season Canada trip

BearcatTalk

Help Support BearcatTalk:

you need to put some respect on gary's name. he was dominant even as a sophomore. Scott will be good if he ever gets to Gary's freshman numbers.

Don’t ever think I’m disrespecting Gary. He’s a friend of mine and was a great Bearcat. I’d choose to see him play in a Bearcat uniform every year If I could, But my point is Tre can produce too and I can’t wait to see what he brings this year when he’s finally the go to guy

Back to the original debate of this team being equivalent to the 2015-2016 team. I’ll bet anyone we can finish with the same record and seed as that year or better

I love Gary and he's an all time great.

But Tre's soph year was very much in line with Gary's Fr year:

Offensive rating:
Gary: 114.9
Tre: 115.7

eFG%:
G:52.4%
T:55.4%

OFF REB RATE:
G: 13.3%
T: 12.9%

Def REB Rate:
G: 18.9
T: 19.2

Assit Rate:
G: 13.9
T: 12.6

So Tre's Soph Year in terms of rating is very much in line with Gary's Freshman year. If he continues that trend its a good sign

this is the most disingenuous responses on here and you know why.

If you want to look at moral victories, Nsoseme didn’t miss a free throw in at least 2/3 games I haven’t seen the stat sheet for the Carleton game

Nsoseme 6-6 from FT line? This kid is showing his work. He needs to start at the 5 with Scott, Fredericks, Cumberland and Broome.

I would love to see minutes per game if you have it. Thanks

The minutes for Jenifer and Brooks stand out. Not sure what to read into it but regardless of the minutes in this game I am going to give a "stock watch" report for the limited information I have from the trip.

Stock about where we thought it might be

Cumberland, Broome, Scott

Stock up a little or a lot

Nsoseme
Johnson
Williams
Fredericks

Stock down a little

Brooks
Moore
Jenifer
Hardnett
Diara (n/a)

Ellie 6 of 6 is definitely eye opening. I think he shot around 20% last year on limited attempts but if he can match Brooks on the line he's in line for more minutes. 50% FT's would be a big improvement. I think he might be around 11-14 right now.

He's a better rebounder and better at getting position on and around the block to get layups (and fouls) rather than baby hooks. His physicality is going to be a big plus for him on both sides of the ball.

I just noticed Brooks had 5 fouls in 7 minutes? Is that right? WTF

Moore shot 5/9 from 3, 0/1 from 2, and 3/3 FT over the 3 games. The small volume of shots doesn't indicate he's looking at a big role change but it's nice to see he was at least efficient.

Yah the only reason I say that his stock is down is because Williams and Fredericks seem to be eating into possible minutes. The wing spot is heavy with options. It's not performance related. Cumberland will start and Broome may as well on the wing. Perhaps even Johnson will factor in somehow. Moore may be 5th option on the wing...but it could also be situational.

I would've shared that but I couldn't find a minutes log for Ottawa game. If anybody could get their hands on that I'd gladly find the averages immediately after.

For two games that we have minutes for (Carleton and McGill)

Fredericks 28.5
Williams 28.0
Scott 26.5
Broome 23.5
Cumberland 22.5
Johnson 15.5
Moore 14.5
Elie 13.0
Brooks 11.5
Jenifer 9.0
Hardnett 3.5
Diara 0.0

Obviously Cronin is just trying to see what he has right now but the usage could be telling us a few things. Cumberland doesn't need to play 35 minutes right now...
