Guys I hate X but I don't find pleasure in this. Word is it's of sexual nature and no charges have been filed. There is a victim here and a young man that needs some serious help. They failed to see the warning signs and recruited poor character guys and they are paying the price.

That's the part that's enjoyable, Jeff. Nobody here is taking pleasure that a girl got sexually assaulted. I hope she is able to recover fully and I hope Dez can land on his feet somewhere eventually.

Xavier took a couple chances years back with Anderson, Crawford, Lavender, etc. They won some games, made some tournament runs, and continued to recruit the same kids. People on the forums have been waiting for this moment to happen, along with the comments from the brawl. It's all karma.

When seemingly every kid on your roster is from prep school or via transfer, you will have problems. Not saying every kid who goes to prep school or transfers is a trouble, but there is usually a reason they prep or transfer, whether it's attitude, academics, off court trouble, or just because. We've had some guys prep and they aren't bad kids by any means.

But how many times in the past couple years have they gotten a commitment and the first thought is "Good luck getting him eligible." Justin Martin, Michael Chandler, Sim Bhullar, and now Chris Thomas come to mind easily.

I'm glad we have Mick and don't have to put up with that BS regularly.

Agree 100%. I hope this leads to recruiting more quality people. These guys should not represent Xavier. Xavier is a proud catholic school with a good name and should not be represented by Mack and these type of guys.

One. They are not decimated. Two, why would that be good. It is better when local teams are good IMO.

I don't like seeing things like this happen but I'm not one that wants a good rivalry. I can't root for X on any level.

Biggest issue to me is why Xavier is still allowing Mack to coach the team. He is obviously in way over his head ever since the shootout. It is clear that they players have no respect for him and walk all over him. IMO Xavier needs to fire him and get someone that demands respect from his players or he wont play them(i.e. Mick Cronin type coach). First you could tell Tu had no respect for Mack, then Lyons and now Dez. The best thing Xavier could do right now is have their AD say exactly what happened(not necissarily details but just say what happened because X is notorious for trying to cover up sexual assualts/harrasments etc), fire Mack and get a good quality coach.

A good friend of mine who is a huge X fan told me last year that the BOT at X does not like Mack at all and would not be suprsised if Mack got canned in the next few years regardless of the performence of the team. They are fed up with him. The guy has a history of being shady. He was reportedly dating a girls basketball player when he was in his late 20's coaching Mount Notre Dame High School. He threw a ball at a players face while at Evansville which was one of the dirtiest plays you will ever see in college basketball.

Pat Kelsey leaves and says it is to be closer to family yet he moves down to South Carolina which is away from his family ( since they all live in Cincinnati). Word is Kelsey did not like the way Mack did things and they were good friends so he left the program. He did not like the way Mack pushed Canty and Latham out the door after there first year and also had a big problem with Lyons and Tu. Kelsey recurited Dez to X and by all reports Dez had a reputation as being a great kid. Kelsey leaves and then Dez does this. I am not saying that means anything but it is ironic.

The Brawl and the way he handled it was flat out awful as we know.

Couple that with the FBI poking around about alleged cover up on rapes in the past ( One that was with a former player reprodetly). Dez Wells was sacrified to safe face so X can tell the Feds they have zero tolerance for this sort of thing. No criminal charges were filed and it was a he said she said sort of thing. You can be that if the Feds were not looking at them this would have been brushed under the rug.

The big money donors and BOT are not happy and I can see Mack getting the ax. I for one hope he stays at X because this is good TV but something tells me he is on borrowerd time.

I think it is clear that the administration and Mack do not see eye to eye.

It will be interesting to see what happens. I think Mack is a good guy. I wonder why all the assistant coaches leave him (not always for better jobs), why he has issues controlling players, why the on court issues, why the off court issues.

I cant imagine Chris Thomas will ever make it on campus.

Having said that, I hate Xavier with a passion. UC has their own program destroyed by Zimpher, and all people associated with X majorly gloated for years since it happened while discounting how hard it was for UC to recover.

Well, I'll give some of that back to them. People in glass houses should not throw stones. Karma is a be-otch. And it's coming back to bite them big time in the arse right now. They are getting everything they deserve, from years of arrogant gloating, to years of cover-ups. When the FBI is involved, they have no business EVER pointing the finger at UC.
