Anyone catch the Baylor / Dayton game last night? Exciting finish with Baylor clawing back in the 2nd half. UD looks looks tough this year though.

I'll be sad to see L'ville leave the AAC after this year but can Rutgers leave for the Big 10 now.

Our former conference looks really soft this year. When the Cats, UConn, L'ville Pitt, Cuse, ND left the fight / toughness seems to have left too.

I agree, the current Big East is nothing close to the old Big East, the bell weather programs of Marquette and Georgetown are stuggling at this point in the season.

The Big East games that have been shown on Foxsports1 have a 0.0 TV rating.

PS: ESPN will not be showing the video of the brawl during this years UC vs XU game. That's because the game will not be on ESPN, it is going to Foxsports1 because it is a X home game.

That is disappointing to hear. That game deserves to be on ESPN for everyone to enjoy. I hope Mick, Whit, and UC holds strong in regards to where that game is played. If it doesn't stay at US Bank we should tell X to piss off.

I think most homes already have Fox Sports 1. Also, I completely disagree on telling Xavier to piss off. It would be a travesty to cancel the series, regardless of compromises that need to be made.

Why don't we play Dayton every season? They're a quality opponent just an hour up the road. To me, it makes no sense to not schedule them every season.

Well we don't get a fair game when its played at the Cintas so I don't see the positives playing it there. X doesn't want it at US Bank because they know that. And they also now its an advantage for UC. I don't want to not play them but it does UC no good playing them at Cintas. Period.

Not a fair game? Because of officiating?

What would we gain by playing dayton over the other non conf sched You either need cupcakes we are sure to beat or good schools that dont hurt our rep if we lose. not middle of the road teams.

Cincinnati should renew a 2-1 with Wright State, maybe do the same with Miami. Also, a home-and-home with Dayton for a 4 year period would be nice.

Outside of 5 games this year, the OOC is actually pretty decent. NC Central, NC State, USC-Upstate, Middle Tennessee St, New Mexico, Xavier, Nebraska and Pittsburgh all are projected to finish in the top 150 of the RPI.

The problem games are Chicago State, UMass-Lowell, Kennesaw State, Appy State and Campbell.

If UC can get that number from 5 to 3, the RPI will be in good shape going forward.

You gain position in the RPI rankings, which = better tournament seeding. Isn't the goal to win games in the NCAA tournament?

Besides, any one of the mid-major teams we schedule could be a potential conference champion with the capability to beat us on an off night. At least Dayton has some respect nationally.

After Louisville leaves, our conference is going to be pretty weak. Not mid-major weak, but clearly no better than the 6th or 7th best conference. We need solid wins out of conference to boost our RPI.

Call me crazy, but I am a big fan of the "anyone, anytime, anywhere" attitude of scheduling. I hate when teams (*cough* OSU *cough*) are afraid to schedule worthy opponents because they might get beat.

Just another reason they are called the Hairless Nuts

Let's just say things tend to get out of hand at the Cintas Center.

Exactly. Officiating would def. be an issue but its more about what Jason stated. The games just get out of hand, the environment is not a positive one. It hasn't been for years now. I have attended the last 3 shootouts at the Cintas and its very uncomfortable. I got to attend because I know the security manager and would stand in front of the student section. The things they say, do, act towards UC is disgusting. I love a rowdy student section but its different there. I also think Xavier does a lot of different "bait and hook" tactics and get away with a lot. It just seems more sensible and positive to keep it at US Bank Arena.

Lets be honest...there is a HUGE reason why UC wants it to stay at US Bank and X is begging for it to be back on campus. It speaks volume IMO.

Bingo.

Norwood Community College should be dropped. It's cute if you live in Cincinnati but it's so provincial. Time to move on to more worthy rivals like Louisville... Or anyone else we can scrounge up who doesn't look, smell, sound and taste as bad a that mortuary college. We are so much better than them to even appear in the same court.

This is funny because Louisville is about to drop Cincinnati in both football and basketball. Xavier is our biggest rival, just face it.

Don't degrade Norwood like that, we are better than Eggsavior! :D:D:D

if you watched dayton in maui and still think dayton is a middle of the road team then you are crazy. would rather hace dayton on the schedule then some of these schools who hurt the rpi and sos even if uc wins.

btw, i think dayton would beat uc pretty handly right now. devon scott looks more solid then all but one of our post players. and i'm not sure that will be the case when uc finally plays someone who is a clear ncaa tourney team.
