if you watched dayton in maui and still think dayton is a middle of the road team then you are crazy. would rather hace dayton on the schedule then some of these schools who hurt the rpi and sos even if uc wins.

btw, i think dayton would beat uc pretty handly right now. devon scott looks more solid then all but one of our post players. and i'm not sure that will be the case when uc finally plays someone who is a clear ncaa tourney team.

If you believe dayton would beat u.c. right now and still disagree with my comments youre missing my point.

Xavier and #23 Iowa going to overtime on NBC Sports Network. Xavier led the whole game, often by double digits, and blew it late. Really hoping they pull this one out for RPI purposes.

Caught some of the Iowa eggs game...wow is Stainbrook the white guy for eggs a big boy. When I say big boy I mean fat and large. Their white jerseys all wet from sweat dont help him out. I can see his belly droop over his waistline. Okay, I am done picking on Kenny Frease's reject brother.

Xavier can't play defense without fouling. Clearly they haven't practiced the new hand checking rules.

Well, they blew it. I don't think Xavier can hang with our athleticism. If Cincinnati loses, it will be because they beat themselves with either foul trouble or poor shooting/shot selection.

Hahaha I was about to say something about that too! You can't be a btp'er if you can't be on the court. Suck it X. I dont care about RPI I'm glad they lost :)

If we don't play them anymore after this year, I absolutely will root for them to lose every game. Until then, I would like them to have regular season success just enough to keep the rivalry relevant, but keep them ranked behind UC. Then, I want them to get trounced in the first round of the tournament every season.

I agree. The only other thing I can think of is size. Most of their players body masses were much bigger than ours. But like you said, our athleticism could make up for that. I think we will get a chance to shoot a lot of FT's when we play them. X virtually fouls on every defensive possession.

By the way, did anyone read this article? This pro-Xavier writer apparently thinks that Cincinnati is beneath Xavier now by way of conference affiliation: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1858354-xavier-and-uc-move-the-crosstown-classic-back-to-campus

Least he admitted that he is scared to play UC on a neutral court. Xavier consistently gets close to 10,000 a game. They would have no problem making US bank a fair environment. They are just pus*sies because they know how unfair it is to play at the Cintas.

The bleacherreport is the equivalent of a fan on a message board. You guys truly are obsessed with Xavier.

On an actual game related note, Xavier blew a big lead in the second half and lost to Iowa. Christon had cramps and had to leave the game. They had no idea what to do with a press down the stretch. Could possibly bode well for UC....

Their students sure as hell are, I can't get away from them.
lol that may be true but the university is not. Years ago when I grew up there Norwood was anything but rental property. When GM closed down the tax base really took a hit and the town changed. Still enjoy Quatmans burger from time to time.

This year, I believe Dayton would qualify as one of the top five teams on our schedule. Their only loss on a decent schedule is a one point loss to Baylor in the final 16 seconds, a game Dayton led all the way
They beat Gonzaga, stomped Cal

I agree. I think that's going to be a real issue for them. They don't seem to have quality depth when their starters get into foul trouble. Iowa had 30+ FT attempts. SK and Caupain (1st & 3rd on the team in FT's attempted) could cause them a lot of trouble. Also, a sustained press is going to wear them out. Their guards seemed pretty careless with the ball when faced with pressure.

That report wasn't as bad as it could be. I think he's right that playing at a nuetral court every year could put X at a disadvantage as most of the city is UC fans and thus it would be more of a hostile crowd for them every year than it would be for us, but their attendance numbers are larger than ours, so explain that as to why we outnumbered them last year. The one thing I didn't like is how he assumes UC will flounder because its in a lesser conference. When X made a name for itself by knocking us off so many times we were a big time program in a lesser conference. No reason to assume that can't happen again. I like the little boast of how their in our old conference now. I've heard so many X fans saying this the last few months. Can't wait for reality to set in that the new Big East is just a good mid-major with a bigger name. Yeah it's better than the A10 was and might be better than the AAC going forward, but it is not a major conference.
