Disagree, Calipari is an average coach and a big cheater. Look at why he left UMASS and Memphis, cheating. Coaching wise, he always has to coach freshmen, so you can't win a title every year. Think about Duke, they get the same caliber players for 2,3, and sometimes 4 years. Cal has great players to work with for only 1 year at a time. He is only a great recruiter because of the Kentucky brand itself (easy to sell to pitch to a recruit, amazing practice facilities and an incredible fan base, along with a great tradition) and he can get people to take tests for said great players (I.e. Derrick Rose's SAT) and shell out $$$.

Cal is great recruiter because of CAA and World Wide Wes.

Cal's career at UK: Elite 8, Final 4, National Title, NIT

What a terrible 4 year run. He sucks as a coach. Right?

I could make a great argument that he should have 4 or 5 national titles.

Heck, if I'd had his rosters and been the head coach, I might have a title or two. :D

LOL Yea really. I would hate for that to happen here;) Even if Mick paid kids.. who gives a shit if we have that resume.

I would. And so would a lot of people.

Huggs didn't have that resume' of Elite Eights and Final Fours, but he gave UC the "thug" image and reputation of not graduating players. True or not, obviously some of it was debatable, but the stigma was there and stuck until he left.

I don't miss those days at all.

I have some things I question about Mick's coaching and recruiting. But I'm happy to say I believe Mick is doing it the right way and bringing in "quality" kids.

Right now, I believe Xavier has a worse image than UC does.

How many times does the favorite really win the national title? I can think of just a few: '12 Kentucky team, the '09 North Carolina team and potentially this year's Louisville team. He easily could have two national titles if the 2008 Memphis team could make a free throw down the stretch.

Or if they fouled instead of letting a guy get off a 3 point shot.

I am not so sure. I was at the in-laws in NEO over Easter. Several members of my wife's family were discussing the uniforms we were wearing for the tournament. The term thugs was thrown out. I asked why they thought our players thugs and they commented that UC always have thugs, our players have tattoo and just "look the part". I asked what a thug looks like and commented nearly everyone has tattoos now a days so I don't see how that is any indicator. I educated them on how have things over the years but I don't think it registered.

As to Xavier, I think a lot of people locally have finally caught on but I do think nationally they still are not perceived poorly. In fact, on a national scale I think a lot of people think they have a bigger presence in SWO than they actually have.

Memphis SHOULD HAVE WON THAT GAME. They lost because Calipari's coaching was horrific.

You made my point.
