Cronin on the radio after the game talking to Hoard & Chuck called out the team's heart and sense of urgency. Too many players acting like they are happy to be there and not doing everything they can like fight for rebounds. Called out the team leadership saying its not enough for the leaders to be ready to play they need to bring the others along.

who are the leaders right now mick?

It's not like this is drastically different, only that they are playing better teams. Terrible offense. Unless something changes fast, this team will be lucky to make it to the deck d round of the NCAA tournament, forget the second weekend.

until they can learn to go to the rim and draw fouls, it won't get any better on offense. Give your bigs a chance to make a play, cash and kilpatrick hardly throws the ball to the paint.

I know the frustration but who do you throw it to? None of our bigs can score.

the problem with the offense is they are bland, stagnant, and predictable. as a team nobody can shoot and create their own shots. so draw some shooting fouls to manufacture points. are bigs are not bad free throw shooters either. maybe that will help instead of taking contested and deep threes. just my opinion

Couple of points: 1.) Cronin micro-manages. He spends half the game yelling on the court side of the OB line. 2.) One mistake and you're yanked. Let the kids play. 3.)The Bigs suck offensively. Who's coaching them? Mbdoj tries hard, but gets no touches. Nyarsuk doesn't know if he's on offense or defense. Watch him move (or not move). Kelvin is green, but he's better than Nyarsuk. 4.)The guards don't cut. They just perimeter pass. Rewatch the last couple of minutes of the Providence game. Their guards are executing basic practice moves and handoffs/passes. But, they are moving!
And finally, who could miss how beautifully Pitt cut through the middle of our zone for easy layups?!
I hope we get invited to March Madness. We can possibly win the first couple of games - but first there's Villanova, Georgetown, Connecticut, Notre Dame, etc....not to mention the BigEast Tournament at MSG.
As painful as it is, I'll be with them every game - win or lose.
BTW, Shaq and Ge'Lawn looked good tonight on both sides of the ball - all 15 minutes they played - combined!

I had my issues with Cash before the injury. I stated early in the season that he was playing like a SG and he needs to play like a PG. He was good when he was making 3's but let's be honest, that's all it's been all season. If he makes 3's he's good but if he doesn't he has very little impact on the game. I'm sorry but if you are a 5th year senior that has been running the show for a while now you don't have stat lines like tonight. Eleven 3 point attempts and only one attempt inside the 3 point line? Would maybe make sense if you were hitting, but guess what Cash, you were one for 10 before your 11th three. Take the hint Cash....

He's always been more of a 2 though. I'd prefer a PG that is a facilitator, but on this team we need scoring from Cash. When he's healthy and scoring this is usually a tough team to beat because we get enough offense. He's scored a total of 16 points in the last three losses. Before the injury he went over 16 in four of the previous five games, including 20 points in 22 minutes at DePaul. He was playing as well as any PG in the BE. He must still be hurting because right now he doesn't even look like a guy that is playing well enough to deserve his minutes. If this keeps up it's going to be a struggle just to get to 9-9.

We will be lucky to make the tourney at this rate. 21 points in the 2nd half at home? Gimme a break, looked like our players gave up in the last 5 min. Pitt did exactly what we did to them at their place. I love watching basketball, but I can't stand to watch this team because they play some of the worst basketball I've ever seen.

Our offense is fine. We just need to concentrate, execute and hit our open shots. We were just off yoday

Hey Bearcat Mick, you can still love a coach and not agree with everything he does. I like Mick Cronin a lot. I'm grateful that he's restored our program. But for the 2012-2013 season, his offensive gameplan is pure sh*t. Yes our players are missing shots and not executing but it doesn't change that it's a bad game plan.

I don't think we should go as far to say they gave up, but there shots wasn't falling and they are limited in there ability to create shots or draw fouls.
