Best and Worst cases:

Lose both games: 12 seed - NIT

Win verse Nova and lose in 1st BET game: 11-12 seed

Win 1st BET game but lose to Nova: 11-12 seed

Win first 2 BET game but lose to Nova: 10 seed

Win first 3 BET games but lose to Nova: 7-8 seed

Win vs Nova and 1st BET game: 9-10 seed

Win vs Nova and 2 BET games: 7-8 seed

Win vs Nova and 3 BET games (assuming we wouldnt get double bye): 5-6 seed

Win vs Nova and the BET: 4 seed

If UC wins out, they will be a 3 seed. I think a win over NOVA and 2 Big East wins puts UC on the 6 seed line.

Lose both games: 12 seed-play in game
Win against Nova/lose first BET game: 12 seed
Win 1st BET game/lose to Nova: 12 seed to play in game.
Win first 2 BET games/lose to nova: 10 seed.
Win first 3 BET games/lose to nova: 7-8 seed
Wins against Nova/1 BET game: 9-10 seed
Win against Nova/2 BET games: 8-9 seed
Win against Nova/3BET games: 5-6 seed.
Win out: 4 seed

I know some of these may seem a little harsh- but the committee WILL punish UC for the OOC. Just my opinion. Also, big jump from 2 BET wins to 3 because I assume they will beat a very good team in the third game.

No, I think they are very reasonable.

If we get in we will be a very difficult team to predict. We could beat pretty much any team in the country. We can lose to teams that we have no business losing too.

If we are a 6 seed I would be pissed off to see us in round one.

All the different possible seeds UC can get will make the selection show very, very interesting. The majority of the time fans know right around the seed they could get, depending on how UC does, they could be seeded anywhere from 4-12. Crazy week ahead of us.

Greatest week of sports...everyone (okay, almost everyone) in the nation has a chance to make the Dance

What seed do you want? If UC can go on a little run, they can get a 6 seed. After that- as crazy as it might sound, 11 seed may be the way to go. UC could beat any 6 seed, IMO. Then they have easiest road to the sweet 16 and beyond. While they could beat the possible two seeds (UNC, Mizzou, OSU, ??) I would think you would rather see those three seeds.

Again, means a more difficult first round- but UC playing at least 6 seed basketball, so its nothing too bad. Frankly, UC may be the favorite in Vegas as an 11 seed

Updated.

If we lose tonight: 8-9 seed

If we win tonight: 6 seed

Win the BET: 4 seed

I think each win from here on out will bump us 2 seeds. It sounds like alot about a win verse Cuse this late would be huge. Winning the Big East would make it very hard to keep us out of the top 16 teams. We would be:

25-9 with wins over Syracuse, Gtown 2x, Marquette, ND 2x, Uconn, Louisville, Seton Hall

Agreed, Greatone. UC wins tonight, over number 2 team in country, they will be a 6 seed. UC loses, they will probably end up on the 8/9 seed, unfortunately. After a very successful BE run and they have to be on that 8/9 would stink.

Not saying they can't beat a 1 (Well, They can't beat Kentucky/UNC. Thats not a shot at UC- not many teams can compete with UNC and almost no one can beat Kentucky) They could compete with Kansas/MSU/OSU, IMO. A win today does wonders for this teams tournament run.

Wrong as usual. Its the ncaa tourney. Anyone can beat anyone. Uc can and will beat unc/uk if the opportunity presents itself

Agreed. No one wants to see UK and UNC because their talent is so high. But if IU can beat them maybe we would have a shot. UNC is more beatable than UK IMO.

Having said that I would like the 7 seed but 6 would be nice

Agree with others that a win can jump us to a 6 tonight (which would be great). I am not buying that winning the BET jumps us 2 more spots to a 4. We might sneak into one of the last 5's, but I'm not sure thats much better than being 6. Either ND or Louisville is going to win tonight and are we really thinking a win against either jumps us that much?

I say win tonight 6 seed. Championship game could get us to 5 with help.

Lose tonight, 7 or 8 depending on others. Even a 7 is much better than an 8 when you look at likely opponents. As a 7, we are nearly guarenteed OSU, MSU, or Duke if we make round 2. I think those are winnable games.

Like everyone else, I would love to avoid UK and UNC.

Agreed, win should jump us to 6 and winning the tourney could get us to a 5. I really don't see 4 happening. With a loss, I feel like anything could happen. I think we deserve a 7, but with our SOS hovering around 90 and those 3 bad losses, I can see the committee still wanting to punish us and give an 8 or 9 (unfair as that might be).

A loss and Cincinnati will by a 7 or the highest 8. If they win the Big East tournament they will be a 4 or 5.

If UC wins the Big East Tourney by Beating Georgetown, Syracuse and ND/UL, UC will be a 3 seed. Mark it down. If UC wins tonight and loses in the final, they will be a 5 seed more than likely (could see a 4 depending on who gets swapped around on the lines). A loss tonight and I still think UC ends up a 6 or 7. RPI is no longer a concern and the number of quality wins for this UC team is unbelievable.

Yes, if they win Big East Tourney a 3 seed is probable.

Actually if we win BET, I still don't see us any higher than a 5. Could be wrong, but a 3 seed means you are top 12 in country. Don't see it. Early losses to Pres/Marshall come back to bite us, not to mention St.Johns/Rutgers.

I agree...that's a very big leap...I think 4-5 would be the ceiling

Not sure, UConn was projected to be a 5 or 6 last year and went up to a 3 winning the Big East tournament. I think UC will go up from an 8 or 9 to a 4 or 5. Obviously a moot point if they get pounded by the Orange tonight.
