How bout a 2 for 1 with the big dogs. If they wont do home and home sweeten the pot a bit

I think we never go two for one is there is zero confidence that we make the first one...in essence giving the opponent the advantage.

You definitely don't go 2 for 1 without a good look at the bucket. But you can't get a good look at the bucket without trying the 2 for 1 in the first place.

I think we've done it twice this year (and I'm not convinced it was intentional), and I believe we scored on both possessions once and on one of the possessions once. Against SMU we got the ball with a full shot clock and 56 seconds...we ended up with a single 18 foot baseline jumper by Washington. You literally cannot do worse than that by trying the 2 for 1.

A top 16 team isn't going to do that. They don't have to, so why would they. He knows that. I wouldn't mind just taking a road game against one of them. Especially next year if we could get one. It couldn't hurt, and we should have a pretty good team. Don't really know enough about the scheduling process tho.
They need a tougher schedule, so I say next yr is the year to just go on the road. Get tourney ready

Do we have any of our non conference schedule set for next year yet? Besides eggs. The butler and Iowa state series are over and I haven't heard much on the topic.

We have the tournament in the Cayman Island with power programs like UAB, Wyoming, and Iowa. LOL.

Would you turn down a trip to the Cayman Islands!?!?

I look at all 8 teams and I believe they all have an rpi of 200 or better. Richmond is top 50. If we get a decent draw this may not be an rpi killer. Need a few big games though to add in

Getting a high seed is the best way to succeed in the tourney and should be the goal next year. beating these teams aren't going to help anything

Coach Cronin wasn't happy with our shot selection.

Jake didn't listen to the broadcast but one thing stood out to me. We got a early over the back call on Taco and never challenged him at he rim after that. The only player who looked like he wanted to drive the ball was Cumberland. While he only shot the ball 3-8 from the field he did get to the line 8 times. If I was Evans I would be trying to figure out a way I could get more trips to the line. If he intends to make the jump from college to the league he will need to add that to his game.

He needs to improve his dribbling to do this

certainly better handles will help but Cumberland doesn't dribble any better then Evans and he gets to the rim. Pump fake, a good first step and a willingness to not settle for jump shots would be other things he can do. His game and talents are much better from a offensive standpoint to just settle for jump shots.
