SSU returns 5 players who played over 18 min/game last season.

Their frontcourt seems to have been completely overhauled so our bigs should really exploit theirs.

SSU was picked to finish 5th out of 13 teams in the MEAC.

I hear ya. I will be out of town for the 2nd and 3rd game. Then they are gone for the tournament. Pretty bummed, I'm gonna try to make the first game on Friday bc if not, I'll be waiting too long for a home game. I hate wasting season tickets.
I'm in the same position...no way I make Friday's game (work)...happen to have conflicts with both of the next 2 games too - gave away Friday's tix to UC to distribute to veterans or active military....E-mailed another to the guy who sits next to me so he can bring someone else...I too hate missing 3 games that I paid for, but oh well - at least they are cupcake games - although sometimes I enjoy those more...no anxiety, time to see the new guys in game situations etc.

We should break a 100 pretty easily on Friday.

Every high major program that played Savannah St last year hit 99 or better. Memphis scored 99, Oregon scored 128, Iowa st scored 113 and iowa scored 116.

At the pace they play at, and with how bad their defense is; I'll actually be a little concerned if we don't drop a 100. half the team would need to be sleeping to not hit that number.

Also, I'm for a block fest. SSU lead the country in getting their shots blocked last year. 16% of their shot attempts were blocked.

They actually scored well inside last year percentage wise yet lead the country in 3pt FG to FG ratio (57% of their shots were 3's ).

KP predicts the score to be 93-61

I like how Cronin was asked in the pre game interview "how we can slow them down?". Cronin said that's not who we are. What??? Effectively he said we plan on pushing pace and pressuring other teams this year with our speed and tempo.

I can tell you one thing. It may not be who we are now but that's exactly who we have been in the past...lol!

Another corner turned? Man I hope so. Wins are what it's all about...but if we can get wins at the same time as more excitement...it's a win win for fans, media attention, and recruits.

I keep saying it, but I just want to be versatile. I've seen Xavier lose quite a few games over the last few years from playing uptempo on offense and just trying to out score teams. In my opinion the most dangerous teams are the versatile team. I want the ability to play at any pace and any style and win.

Xavier sucks at defense. We don't.

We have so much versatility right now. We have added some driving players and play makers, we have bigs who can score inside and out, we can play D, we can push pace, we can play slow if we need to.

I am trying to figure out what we don't have. That would be easier.

Free Throw shooters yet again it seems. We shall see as the season goes on.
