Yeah, this seemed to be point that they felt it worth mentioning?!? Any word on who this is as of now? Maybe an extremely highly rated local LB...fingers crossed?!?!?

Well it appears whatever potential commitment was going to occur last evening has fallen through, for now... interesting that they would go as far as teasing the commitment and then there hasn't been a wiff of anything since then...

I didn't watch the teaser but could they have been referring to Crockett? He committed yesterday.

Darling is part of the 2010 class. My understanding is that Tim was talking about a recruit for 2011.

I read somewhere that Lewis has been cleared to practice, but has not yet been cleared to play. They are still working on that. That is a direct quote from Jones (I think it was on Bill Koch's Q&A from yesterday).

From what I understand Tim was told by a player that he would be committing to UC, but Tim didn't want to mention the name or do an atricle until he told the coaching staff or recieved confirmation again from it instead of running with a story that proved to be untrue. This has obviously not happened yet, but I don't think it means that it won't.

No doubt, but it's extremely unusual to tease about a commit and then not have another whiff of it for four days now... something unexpected may have occurred, because typically you wouldn't put that out there unless the commitment was indeed imminent... which we now know this one wasn't/isn't.

I agree. I guess there are a lot of things in play like contact rules, being at higher ground, school starting for some kids, wanting to tell the other coaches who offered him first, parents telling him not to commit unless he is totally sure after he tells others he is going to Cincinnati. I dont' know if any of those are true or happened, but this time of year is very unique. I would rather have this happen than Alex Smith.
