Broome is easily the best offensive player on the floor. Really impressed with him, he can create his own separation. Need to put any worries away that anyone had. Kyle Washington is a stud and will be problems for any center having to guard him.

Nice keep the updates coming!

Brooks aka Nas has impressed me too. Really athletic, mobile and plays with great energy. He has had some really awesome dunks.

Broome is going to be special and relax about the injuries, it's just like pre season football you won't play even the slightest thing is wrong. No need to. Getting excited for the season that's for sure. Quadri looks much more relaxed

It's not the injuries, it's the fact that we can't go 5 on 5 with scholarship players.

It's just complaining for the sake of complaining about something, it's basketball season again 😎

Red Team- Starters with Tobler in instead of Evans

Evans and Cumberland sat out unfortunately. We all knew this, but Cumberland really is built like a grown man...

Caupain- Looked like the leader and was very vocal with the team. This is clearly his team. He hit 3s, ran the offense, and did everything right. He's going to have a great senior season!

Washington- Ugliest shot in the world, but is a really exciting addition offensively. Not sure if he had a block during the scrimmage or not. He looks to make big plays and really came around in the second half. He even hit a 3. Had some nice dunks and will extend our offense out to the perimeter much more than last year.

Cane Broome- Has confidence off the charts. Reminds me of a mix of Steph Curry and Nick Van Exel. I say Steph Curry more because of his swagger. He can dribble, pass, shoot and take it to the hole. There were several instances where it was a fastbreak 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 and he took it right to the basket and would lay it in with ease. Might have gotten tired but started missing his shots in the 2nd half, but was still making plays. Seeing him and Jenifer on the same team was exciting. He is going to be an excellent Bearcat...

Jenifer- Looked so much bigger. Dude must have spent the offseason at Mike Rehfeldt's house. His arms were huge. He still hit the floor a lot and at one point smacked his head on the floor after making a layup and the gym got quiet. He was fine though. He had some great stutter moves that threw his man off him and he made some shots and had nice passes. He did look like a better player.

KJ- Looked like the same player. Played D, hit a 3 or 2, but he does all the little things right so Mick will probably start him. Not sure if this is accurate or not but Tobler might have had more points than him.

Brooks- Blocked Gary Clark multiple times and had a bunch of put back slams. That is all his offensive game will be this year IMO. No post up game, but held his own defensively against a much better player in Kyle Washington. Should give us some quality minutes off the bench.

Scott- He is a lot bigger than I thought he was. Reminds me of a young Justin Jackson, just more muscular and talented. Had a couple blocks and matched up with Clark most the game. Played solid D. Had a great hustle play where he kept the ball inbounds and the play alive. At times he did look a little confused, but I was impressed with him. He is a solid passer and moves the ball well.

Clark- Is definitely one of our best players. His all around game is so solid. He's going to have a big year. He swatted Cane Broome at one point like Hicks/Maxielle/Martin used to do on the regular. Not to get off topic here, but next year's lineup of Broome, Cumberland, Evans, Clark and Washington could be scary good...

Moore- Quadri looked lost at some times and other times he was hitting shots. Still looks like the same player, but he does have a nice shot. Looks like he's in great shape though.

Broome was a ball hog. First two times he touched the ball he didn't look to pass. He later played more within the frame of the team. He forced a couple deep shots too. But he has a good dribble move to get seperation. He's definitely a scorer, but at our level defenses can easily stop him if he doesn't use his teammates in the half court. I'm glad he has a year to sit and learn cause I can guarantee mick won't go for him standing behind the three point line and dribbling to get separation so he can heave a 20 footer up.

Other takeaways, Washington looked solid, didn't finish strong on half his shots. Took a number of threes which I'm not a fan of. Between him and Gary somebody needs to play down low. Just saying. He rebounded well but was going against an obviously weaker brooks.

Scott looked good, great energy and most importantly crashed the boards. He played hard every play. Offense needs work, but we knew that, he's a freshman, but he didn't look lost on offense. Brooks, too. Great energy. Had good instincts but too weak to be banging with the big boys.

Moore looked fine, it's a scrimmage, see what he does vs a real opponent and if can be that calm. Hit a couple long shots.

Jennifer looked solid. Took a hard fall and got his bell rung pretty good. He looked like he was going to throw up immediately after. Hope he's ok. He looked good though. I like how he passes to get ball up court ad opposed to troy and Broome both dribbling it up. He had a couple really nice passes as well.

Troy was solid and maybe a little quiet. Johnson was quiet. As was clark. Those three guys are our established guys and probably were on cruise control more than the others. Troy did have some nice plays though as did Gary.

Overall it was good to see the team in action. Sucks Cumberland and Evans were hurt and couldn't play. Kenyon was in one of the huddles and talking to brooks, also sat with Evans briefly and seemed to be hyping him up some. Good to see him taking an active role with the players. My main two take aways though was Broome seemed selfish for my taste and Scott impressed with his energy.

EDIT: quiet isn't the right word to describe troy, Clark and kj, I just mean we know what they bring and they looked like themselves, nothing new to report

Also what recruit did we have their court side? He was about 6'4-6'5 I would say. Darren Savino was over talking to him closer to the end and the players were all talking to him as well.

Cool thanks guys. Should have known... He looked excited to be there and probably wanted to play. He took a picture of his dad with the Bearcat at one point. Should be a great year and the future is very bright

So Broome is a ball hog mixture of Steph Curry and Nick Van Exel. Can't wait to see him play!

Lol that's awesome. 99% of people there will tell you this kid can ball. He was on the same team as Quad, Jenifer and Brooks. I would be a "ball hog" on that team also. He looked great.

Nothing against those guys, but his offensive game is on another level compared to them right now...

I might be the only one who thinks he looked like a selfish player, but a pg is supposed to distribute the ball. The first two times he had the ball he put his head down (figuratively) and dribbled the air out of the ball until he got separation and threw up a long range shot. He didn't pass and didn't look to pass. He also a couple times over penetrated and got stuffed trying to drive. He'll be easy for the defense to collapse on if defenses see him trying to go one on five. I'm not saying he didn't have skill and he finished in traffic a couple times too. Made a couple nice passes. But my impression was he was a selfish player. Won't see him again for another year so only time will tell. But college ball isn't designed for one on five, nor is a Cronin team.
