I think Xavier needs to cancel this series immediately. Why play a game that is just another game for X but makes or breaks UC's season. We could just schedule someone like Finland or IUPUI and it will be about the same thing for our RPI SOS.

Troll alert.

Yeah, Finland and IUPUI would do the same thing to UC's RPI and SOS as a team that has gone to the sweet 16 the past three years. Please.

Not a troll, the IUPUI/Finland was to make fun of UC but I am serious. What benefit does X get out of playing this game. None.

I think you misread his post. He wants X to drop UC, not the other way around.

If that happens, it would take away one of X's 3 nationally televised games each season and the one time a year that more than 20,000 people in the city of Cincinnati pay attention to X's program.

Well, I think it would be stupid for X to drop UC, and What benefit did UC get from playing X 15-20 years ago?

As for the one time, you don't think more people pay attention to them when they get to the sweet 16 3 straight years?

Its would eliminate a rivalry inwhich UC has DOMINATED over the years. It would eliminate Xavier from playing a BE team. The question should be possed the other way. What benefit does UC have playing a mid major school....

The "we" in thetruth's post is X. He's saying IUPUI would do the same thing for X's RPI and SOS as scheduling UC.

That said, I hope thetruth realizes he has become what he likely claims to hate most about UC fans. Most X fans that loathe UC give reasons like:

  • They act like they own the city,
  • they treat us like little brother, and
  • they're arrogant.

Congratulations thetruth, you just surrendered the moral high ground X fans love to brag about. You're on an opposing fans' message board talking trash and gloating. And speaking of morality, please enjoy this summary of the kinds of people your beloved "good Christian" University churns out.

  • Mo Brantley, at Xavier from 1989-1992 ; convicted of 1st degree murder (had prior conviction for unlawfully driving away in a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver or manufacture)
  • DeWaun Rose, at Xavier from 1990-1993; possession of cocaine
  • Andre Smith, at Xavier from 1993-1994; convicted of voluntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence
  • Lloyd Price, at Xavier from 1998-2000; armed robbery (reduced to theft from a person)
  • Dedrick Finn, at Xavier from 2002-2005; cocaine trafficking and possession (previously accused of dognapping)
  • Drew Lavender, at Xavier from 2006-2008; drunk and disorderly, possession of marijuana
  • CJ Anderson, at Xavier from 2007-2009; alleged rape. Recommended for expulsion, then repealed (no formal charges filed)

I think the city benefits from the exposure, as well as both schools. It would be foolish for either side to cancel the shootout.

You forgot stuff like their former AD having an affair with the strength coach and the assistant coach who got a DUI.

And that's just the stuff you know about about. X hides a lot of stuff really well (ie: Jordan Crawford failing multiple drug tests at IU and therefore being forced out of the program)....

X has a good program. I would be fine if the cancelled the shootout. Before you say "tired of losing?" crap I have always thought they shouldn't play. Xavier players have always got more out of that game than UC players.

Xavier fans would be more upset than UC fans without a doubt in my mind.

UC will not cancel because it brings in good money.

X won't cancel because it is one of the few Big East teams that will go home and home with them and it gets them on ESPN because once they go to A-10 play their exposure goes down.

I couldn't care less about Xavier players getting in trouble. People who act like they care about another teams graduation rates or off the court stuff are hilarious to me. It was funny when X tried to do it to UC and it is funny when we do it to them.

I was rooting for Xavier to win the other night. It's a hometown team, like it or not. Hell, I'd rather root for them than UConn...even though UConn got jobbed in the final minute of the NIT. The push at halfcourt was a foul that was not called.

Forgive me, I think I had too many beers, and was bored.

Okay guys don't get all bent out of shape over this troll. He's the normal X fan who is pissed off because no matter how many times X makes it to the sweet 16 or beats UC in the shootout (which to me seems like X cares far more than UC), they will always be thought of that other team in the city of Cincinnati. Before you come run your mouth about X should drop UC from their schedule or bring up the fact that X beat UC when they were #1, and how many times you have made the sweet 16, why don't you try winning a national championship or hell making it to a final four. And I'm EXTREMELY tired of hearing "We beat you when you were #1 in the country", hey X fan real quick comment......... at least we have been #1 in the country numerous times. Can you do me a favor and tell me how many times X has been #1? Don't worry I'll wait. Oh that's right.... ZERO. Go back to your dorm, do some research on who is really the better program overall from the past, present and future and also try to figure out how to make the X girls somewhat less ugly........ okay forget that second part because that may be impossible.

And I believe that's check and mate!

Just so we are clear, I don't care either. Its the hypocrisy of their fanbase that bothers me.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhahahahhaha.

This is one of the best troll posts I've seen over here.

Can you go crawl back under that rock you came from?

In reference to the X girls.... here is a beautiful Muhammed Ali quote...

"(insert xavier girls name here) is so ugly that she should donate his face to the US Bureau of Wild Life."

Um, X owes this rivalry for it's success. They were doing some good things in the 90's, but until they started splitting the series with us and beat us twice as a #1 and later St. Joe's as a #1 they were a nobody in terms of national exposure. And lets be realistic. At this point you're winning way more often than you're losing and UC, even as a mediocre team, still brings a top 100 RPI if not top 50 to their resume.

If anyone should consider dropping it it should UC. We could never seem to motivate our players to play with passion in the game and subsequently lose an out-of-conference game to a mid major that hurts our resume every year.
I don't think they should drop it, but sure am tired of seeing them lose this game.
