Help Support BearcatTalk:

I am just going to go on a rant for a second because I get tired of UC's fan base in general. I know we have great fans on this board and all but as a city I personally hate half of our fair weather/bitter pissed off for no reason fans who don't support this program. All throughout work and reading comments on Cincy.com just so much negativity and unjustified excuses and complaining. Sadly they are a big reason why we don't get top recruits or more exposure because we have piss poor support. Maybe if our "fans" would get their heads out of their mom's rear end and support this team and fill the arena for all the games, recruits would take notice and we can get those 4/5 stars players that everyone desires. I don't want to hear all the bs excuses you have for not going to the games and supporting this team because all schools fan's sellout their exhibition games and the low of the low Div. I schools. So if the "fans" want to half support the program expect the same results in recruits. 5,000 people for the first two games is an insult for how entertaining this team is.

Same goes for UC football, which is just as bad. UC fans in general piss me off and they are weak.

I appreciate everyone on this board for their knowledge and enthusiasm and I am glad we have some true fans on board. Okay, I feel better now, thanks!
Amen!!!!!!!!

So the question for the bearcats regarding mormon or lawrence when it comes to the last scholarship would be who or what position on the roster is more important

Good question...I was thinking about this yesterday. I would also add Henry into the mix. I would say it depends a lot on what SK does. If we lose SK I would look at next year as a bit of a rebuilding year and therefore would rather have Moorman or Henry (assuming Lawrence is a one and done type of guy).

If SK stays I think Lawrence would be a lot more valuable to us since I think we would still have enough pieces to have a good season. We would just have to play a taller lineup and change the offensive strategy for one year. Nyarcuk or Gaines (maybe even Strickland) would the the 5. Larence/Rubles/JJ would make up the 3 and 4. SK at 2. Then Guyn or Davis at the 1.

If we lose SK I think we have too many positions to fill (with not enough talent or experience) to expect a good enough season...so I would rather invest in 2+ years from now with Moorman or Henry if we lose SK. I can deal with missing the dance for one year if we can make it the next three.

Another masterpiece by Bill Koch (sarcasm)......
Here's the link:http://news.cincinnati.com/article/...-player?odyssey=mod|newswell|text|FRONTPAGE|s

There was an interesting tidbit of info in the last paragraph of that article regarding Strickland, “The first jersey his dad ever got him was a Kenyon Martin jersey,” Cronin said. “Any time you can find a guy who’s 6-10 and can score…that’s something that we don’t have in our program right now.”

So KJ is local, Strickland grew up a UC fan and Caupain wanted to play in the Big East (an article I read about him when he verballed basically said he wanted to play in MSG one day in the Big East tourney because he went as a kid with his dad). This is recruiting. Coaches can preach and sell as much as they want, but at the end of the day players usually end up somewhere they have ties to for one reason or another. Mick's job is to keep great local players here and increase the program's success and exposure so players not from here look at us as a great team. We are definitely on the right path for this.
