If we would happen to win SMU...I would start thinking top 2 seed for sure in the dance.

SMU can suck it. :cool: I hope we take it to them. I think our guys will go all out (nothing new there) but with a week off, we won't hold back.
 
The guys better be ready for round 2 against SMU, UConn, Memphis, and Louisville. With us being 11-0 and them having revenge on their minds, the target is on our backs and we will get their best shot.
 
Very interested to see what Vegas puts the line at. Wouldn't be shocked if it was even. SMU has yet to lose at home all season. That dominating win vs Memphis last weekend was damn impressive. Their arena will be rocking I'm sure so it'll just be another test for the Cats.

We will actually probably be small underdogs.

How cute they think they can hang with us after one little win!

Seriously though you would think at 22-2 things would get easier and after facing LOU, USF and UConn we would get a break. Where LOU and UConn were super hot. Now we get to go to SMU who is a really good team (should be top 25) and has just smoked their last two opponents. Plus I don't think they have lost a game at home. Should be another great game.

Then we still have a stretch where we go against LOU, UConn and Memphis. I thought this conference was supposed to be easier than the BEAST. Look around at all of the former BEAST members and where they are in the standings these days. What a shame. Too bad WV has fallen so hard in the Big Ten. I wish Pitt would have went in that onference. That would have been a better team to battle in that conference. WV was already on the slide down.
 
If we can win in the YUM Center, we can win in Moody. I've learned my lesson not to doubt this team. Very difficult game, but anything less than a win is a disappointment.

SMU is a tough team. Kenpom has then at 17th AdjD and 63 AdjO. As comparison the Cats are 5th AdjD and 125 AdjO. They seem to have a lot of players that can chip in 6-10 pts. Nic Moore is an all conference type of player and Markus Kennedy is a double double machine that is similar to Harrell (L'Ville). They seem to be a different team at home as well.

The last time around ST and JS combined for 20pts and SK had an off game. That third scorer or a combination of JS, ST, GG, and TC might be the difference in this one. The Cats take it 63-57.
 
There's only 1 game left where UC will be challenged…At UConn. And we will win that one

UC cruises by double digits tomorrow

1)Undefeated AAC regular season
2)conference tournament champion
3)#1 seed in March
4)2014 National Champions

That should go right up on the wall in the locker room before the game. Not that they need any extra motivation...but disrespect is not what you want to do to this particular team.

Wow opening up as +3.5 underdogs. Never thought a team ranked in the top ten could get even more motivation to keep that chip on their shoulder. This game is definately dangerous, the SMU boards (didn't believe there would actually be any) are treating this like their SuperBowl.

Should be a fun game to watch, but I know my money will be the Cats in this one. I think that SMU might come out really tense because of the pressure everyone is putting on them around their campus. I expect us to jump on them early and hold on down the stretch just like the Louisville game.
 
I am not going to predict anything other than what is VERY easy to predict. We will give our best effort. We will battle till the end. We will play with heart and determination.

It's hard to put a number on how much things like "heart", "chemistry", "grit", "confidence", "effort", "attitude", "desire" and "leadership" mean to a team in terms of winning. But it is becoming VERY apparent to me...it means a LOT more than "skill" or "talent" or "recruiting stars".

I know we can lose on any given night to many teams...but this is the type of team that can make a run in the tourney. They have more of the immeasurable intangibles than any other team in the Cronin era. They have that dreaded disease of "March Madness" and it's only February. Insert "Mean Face".

All but 1 of the CBSSPORTSLINE guys picked SMU. I do think this is a danger game for UC. We will need the bench to step up and the past 2 games they've given very little. My prediction is going to be simple. If UC has 3 double digit scorers and 16-20 bench points they'll win. If only 2 and and they are under 16 from the bench the win streak will end. When I looked at the schedule in mid January I told myself I thought this is where we'd lose. I can't pick against this team but I believe what I said they need to do to win is true; so I'll leave it at that.
 
65-61 Bearcats. Neck and neck game for 39 minutes, Bearcats get a 2 point lead with 40 seconds left, and add a couple more free throws.
