Trying to get Cumberland on the floor instead of Scott at this point. Best way to do that is to get Jake some minutes when Gary is out and going small. I think Tre has a bright future here, but down the stretch if you can get those minutes to Cumberland, you do it...
As we get to the end of the season and head into the tournaments it is apparent Mick is trying to find more offense so we do not have the 5-6 minute dry spells. Also getting that extra perimeter shooter on the floor will open up some space inside. Teams won't be able to just play off our guards. Evans should be able to exploit most 4's with his quickness and get to the rim a bit more and draw some fouls while drawing them away from the basket.

Getting out of USF with a W after our game Sunday is big. We normally play like crap down there. While I don't think we played our best game the outcome was never in doubt.

Thanks Chad! Makes sense to me. That is a good way to get Cumberland 5 additional minutes. Need to get him prepared for March. I like it!

This also gives us a chance to play a little more 4 out 1 in to mix up our offensive looks and options rather than playing mostly inside out with two bigs. This is just the type of thing I was hoping for to give our guards a little more ability to penetrate for at least a portion of the game when the lane is not as clogged up. Getting Cumberland more minutes gives us more weapons on offense than we have with Scott.

Count me in! This is a wonderful development and the type of change we need to at least try to create more offense. I hope it works. We will need play makers on the court in March to go along with our stingy D. I hope Scott develops into a play maker but right now he is not.

Yeah, if you go back the last 4-5 years we have had some ugly games there. This one wasn't pretty but glad we won convincingly and it's over with. 5 more games left.

The past few games we haven't looked great.

I was not happy with the first half (except on D) but we did play better in the second half. That was a 20 point game really...except for the late desperation quick shots from USF that went in. I was not too displeased. Our effort was great! We won comfortably.

SMU had a close call on the road against a bottom feeder in Tulane just for a little perspective. I have very little problem with our win.

SMU was home not away.

I also don't think anyone would have a problem with the win. A win is a win. Offensively though I don't think the last 3 games have been that impressive. Not worried about it just stating the truth.

I wouldn't compare this game quite like the game @ ECU but along the same lines. Just wasn't extremely pretty. All in all though just glad we won convincingly and we can move on.

Good point! If you go back even further we at one point had lost 4 games in a row there only to bounce back and win the next two by a grand total of 10 points.

This was our first comfortable win @USF in the Cronin era. I'll take it!

WH it also should help create some mismatches for Evans. Playing against the other teams 4 should give him a big advantage in quickness which may help him draw a few more fouls and get to the line.

Eeek...my bad! Even more reason to give it perspective.

No doubt we have to pick it up offensively. Having JC on the floor a bit more can't hurt.

Interesting stat. We had only 3 guys with multiple rebounds. Clark (14), Washington (9), and Cumberland (4). Everyone else had 1 or less. I bet that hasn't happened all year.

I sure hope so...I think you're right though. I hope on the road when we have 4 guards in we make every effort to penetrate before shooting 3's.

In Troys last 3 point attempt he has made it. So he's 1 for 1 in his last 3 point shot. Lol but seriously I love Troy I hope he builds from there after seeing one go down. He needed one so bad.

You could tell after he made that shot he was seriously relieved. He was almost doing the SMH after he pointed to KJ I think...lol!

Comparing SMU schedule to ours from here on out. We share 3 of the same games. Home games against Tulsa and Memphis and away at UConn. No edge.

We both play Houston but their game is away and ours is home. Edge UC

Which leaves our away game against UCF. Edge SMU

At Houston is the scariest game left on either schedule IMO. But we have one extra game to play so...

It's going to get interesting. I wish Tulane just would have beat them yesterday.

I'm going to see if I can ask Cumberland to sign his Jock strap and give it to you! You probably would put it on!! Lol
