What a game but Cheik. Moved really well. Scored and defended the hoop like the player we had heard about in the off season.

Its a freakin roller coaster

Maybe they get hot again and carry them deep into the NCAA tourny

They could. This team has enough talent to beat almost anyone (not sure anyone is beating UK right about now). If they get hot, play smart and keep looking to push the ball on the break, they can be very dangerous. They have to keep focused on the defensive end of the floor though.

They need to stop stressin out on the defensive end and play loose overall

They played well tonight and did what they were supposed to do.

I don't know how we lost to St Johns the first game. They are terrible. I realize they play 5 freshmen and a JUCO so that's understandable. I'm glad we did what we were supposed to do and drub them.

Anyways, I'm very interested to see the game saturday. A win at Marquette would solidify this team into the tourney.

It's all about being mentally ready to play for them. They are their worst enemy. If this team came mentally ready to play They'd be 20-4 right now.

The second half may have been their best performance of the year. Very good defense, good movement on offense and attacked the glass. Mbodj was very active and showed flashed of what I saw in summer league. Gates was very active for the most part and was rewarded for running the court.

Hopefully they build off this and don't lay an egg @ MU.

I think they'll be ready to play, they are at their best against good teams on the road. Now winning will be a different story...should be a good game and with Memphis joining the Big East its like the old band is getting back together. UC, UL, UM, and MU all being good.

I was thinking the same thing. He looked like he was ready to come in and contribute this summer. I'm sure the injury slowed him down a little, but he has looked lost out there for most of the season. By midway second half last night St. Johns looked like they had given up and the Cats were playing tough to the buzzer. That probably had a lot to do with his performance, but sometimes that's what you need to get your confidence going. If nothing else it shows what Mick saw in him to bring him in.
