Interesting how they are tying in the striping with the look of the stadium and campus. I like the idea, not crazy about the triangles, but I like it better knowing it was modeled after the Lindner Center triangle windows. Interested to see how it looks on the new uniforms. Also reading through stuff it suggests no red uniforms the first year. I'm not sure why they need an extra year to unveil red uniforms. I kind of like using the phrase Juncta Juvant as well. Although utilizing it's English meaning, Strength in Unity, would probably make more sense in my opinion.

Not sure what about the red unis takes an extra year either. I like the idea of incorporating campus elements into the design but it almost seems OVER thought. Do like the idea of getting rid of the italic aspect of the Cincinnati script, which seems like a small thing but will probably make a big difference.

It is probably a financial issue. I believe this was a about a $5 million per year deal. That $5 mill is split between payments to the school and uniform/apparel/equipment cost. Since we are getting new everything for every sport this first year, that probably eats up all of the money allotted for uniform/apparel/equipment pretty quick and leaves nothing for alternate uniforms, especially for football where you need 100 of them.

^This move to UA is awesome. They market the hell out of their gear.

Gary Parrish on The Eye on College Basketball podcast has an episode up discussing "sneaker wars". Haven't listened yet, but heard the intro. He says UA is hands down #2 and way ahead of Adidas. They are Nike's only competition. But Nike is hands down still #1.
