Our penultimate home game of the regular season brings Temple (14-9, 7-5 AAC, NET #119, KenPom #130) to town in a battle where the winner will take sole possession of 5th place in the AAC standings.

The Owls beat SMU 64-57 on Thursday despite having starting wings Damian Dunn and Jeremiah Williams sit out due to injury (Kendric Davis was also out for SMU). Temple went on a late 22-8 run in that game to secure victory.

The status of Dunn and Williams will significantly affect the outlook for today's game as the Bearcats will hope to atone for the absence of John Newman who picked up an ankle injury against Wichita St.

The Bearcats are 6.5-point favorites.

Wes can't have MAW, Saunders, McGinnis, and David come back. If I had my choice I take Saunders/McGinnis!

Nothing we could do. Temple is on fire, not missing anything. They would be beating any team in the country the way they are playing. We are not playing that badly except for a flurry at the end of the half we would be ok. As it is, I hope we will be able to come back all the way. I am sure we will have a run and make it a game.

why is it that teams are always on fire against us? maybe when that's a trend there is something to it.

frankly this team is not any good, and I'm not convinced the coach is any good. there is literally nothing out there that makes me think that they are well coach.

No disrespect but please stop with this excuse! Its a lot you could do as coach stop them! Go zone or have taller player out front defending ball handler. Teams get whatever they want with our guards lack of height and zero ball pressure.

Exactly!

We play 10-11 guys. Coach should have them pressing and all out for entire 40min. I honestly haven't seen us grab one clean rebound either.

I love it, we're down 5 a minute to go and we have Newman taking back 2 back 3's. Someday maybe someone can convince me that he adds value while on the court.

Totally agree. Chuck & duck offense.
Horrendous basketball IQ.

Good point.
So disappointing isn’t it ?
I would expect, with a talent barren team,
to at least try and make up for it with better
Fundamentals ?
You know, square your shoulders & step into
the shot (unless late in shot clock), box out,
execute defensive game plan ?
Oh well, there’s always golf to be played &
tennis to be served.

The weak OOC schedule coupled with the freak Illinois win early in the season gave many of us a false sense of hope.

The fact that we're off the track of the relatively mild expectations that many of us had at the start of the season (win 20 games, top 75 NET/KenPom, NIT berth) is particularly disappointing.

We could debate all day about where the blame should go most - players, coaches, or circumstance.

This roster needs several considerable reinforcements for next season.

I hope Miller has the cajones to force out the necessary players and recruit the right transfers in their place.

defense is now 96 in efficiency our last 10 games, and the last 10 games we are 112 overall.

this team is tanking on the defensive end and the only hope we have in a lot of games is shoot over 50% from 3 with a hand in our face.

getting swept by temple is a low point.
