Skip to the 5min 12sec mark in the video of the first quarter and see the most Shaq play ever

With all of the new pieces that we have, minus the first quarter, I'd say we played really well. Ellis looks like a human vacuum down low, dunking, blocking, and most importantly, rebounding. Moore has a really nice offensive game, I think he has big time potential. Shaq was a disappointment. Strickland and DeBerry both showed potential, but I think we won't see big contributions from them until closer to the middle of the season. Strickland (understandably) looks rusty from not playing for a year/getting to practice with the team, and DeBerry looks like he is still adjusting. Morman and KJ were both very impressive. Caupain was a little disappointing also, although I think Mick was trying to give more minutes to the newcomers. Can't really form an opinion of Cobb from this game. Overall, I was pleased to see how the newcomers look ready to contribute much sooner than those we have seen in recent years......

After watching the scrimmage I like Gelawn's game so much better when he's off the ball and not running the point. I think he has a decent shot when he's set and he can use that athletic ability to slash more

I definitely DO NOT like Guyn bringing the ball up the court. Hopefully Caupain gets the majority of minutes at the 1, and Cobb can spell him (Cobb will have a few games in a row where he doesn't contribute, then go off for 20, just seems like that type of player). Johnson will lock down the 2 spot, with Mormon looking good as well. Guyn adds value, but not as the primary ball handler.

I love how Strickland and Moore both showed they have a capable mid range game. Have we every had a freshman big like that? Ellis and Clark both get after it on the boards. I like how we're getting back to the point where they can physically impose their will on opponents. As good as JJ and Rub were, they were undersized.

There will be some growing pains, I think we can expect the D to take a hit with all the new pieces, but I'm very excited about the season and the future of this team.

Sanders will be steady. Not a fan favorite or flashy but his job will get done. Jury is still out on Shaq, and he better be careful because Clark/Mormon/Sanders could easily take his minutes

I'm excited to see KJ. He can score on all three levels. I think when it's all said and done he is going to be a complete player.

Cobbs shot looks good. I don't think he will be a non-contributor, then explode for 20. I think he will give 5-6 for a couple games then give you double figures.

I've been high on Clark from the time he was signed. I believe he will contribute more than all the newcomers save Ellis.

Mormon is just fun to watch. I think perimeter defense this season is going to be outstanding overall, and think he will be a big part of that.

I am starting to feel like Clark, Moore, and Morman are going to contribute right away. I originally thought the JUCO guys would see the floor more this season, but after watching that scrimmage I am not so sure. Obviously a scrimmage is a very limited thing to base any opinion off of, but that's what my gut is telling me. I also think Morman and Clark are good enough to push Guyn, Sanders, and Shaq for minutes.

I completely agree. I feel like Clark is already better than Rubles was. I was also glad that Morman got so many minutes in the scrimmage. He's a playmaker for sure.

Ellis is going to see the most time for the post positions, I think he's going to be really good, I would like to see Ellis and Clark playing together at the same time a lot this year

Ellis and Clark? let's see...rebounding check, shot blocking check, athleticism check, high motors check, and offensively they aren't just taking up space. Sounds like these two will fit Cronin's player requirements the best...(so far).

It sounds like Moore, Strickland, and Debarry have some work to do to be sufficient defensively. Not good if you want a lot of playing time under Cronin.

On a side note. Caupain, Johnson, and Mormon are going to be fun to watch the next 3 years. Mormon is going to be the most explosive dunker we have seen in a long time. Johnson looks like he's ready for a lot more playing time.

I hope the team can get chemistry quickly for our hopes this year but the next few years will be fun to watch as a fan
