This is interesting - RE: Tailgating

That sounds freaking sweet. I was asking a buddy of mine that goes to UC what it was like on gameday, and he said that they didn't really have a central location, just every house kind of pregammed their own way. This is a huge upgrade IMO, it could be really awesome. I'll have to try it out. BCT get together at one of these?

I asked the organizers of this about security because some of the BCN folks PM'd me about it. I'll post here when I get a response.

I know from planning events at school that there are rules on how many security staff have to be present so it should be adaquete.

Got my answer back:

The Short Vine Business Association, UC Athletics, and Uptown Consortium are excited to bring a new tailgating experience to Short Vine. Cincinnati Police Captains and Officers from District 4 and District 5, as well as a Lieutenant from the Special Events Unit have been members of the Bearcat Block Party Committee since the inception of the committee. They have provided valuable insight as well as assistance with preparing city ordinances to block off the street. On-duty police officers will be posed at W. Cory & Vine and Charlton & Vine starting at 6:00 am on game day. We will also have on-duty police officers patrolling Short Vine and surrounding streets throughout the entire day.

Let me know if you have any additional questions. We hope to see you at the Bearcat Block Party. Rock Short Vine!
