At approximately this time, the 'Cats will be finishing the shootout with X...

I have one question to ask each poster. A yes or no answer will do but if you feel inclined you can support your reasoning:

Will the Cincinnati Bearcats be 15-0 on Thursday, January 6th at 9:00 P.M.?

Odds are against us, but:

I thought Dayton would be our most challenging OOC game this year, and we smoked them.

We'll be 9-0 going into @ Oklahoma and @ Miami. Worst case scenario is split 1-1, then win the next 3 going into Xavier.

13-1 going into Xavier.

I think we will be 14-1 going into Nova (BE 2-0) IF we show up and give maximum effort.

15-0. This team can play fast or slow, and the press is getting better each game. Seton Hall will be their toughest game IF Hazell is back, otherwise I can't see anyone staying with the Bearcats prior to Villanova.

Ima say 14-1. I think we can beat anyone on our schedule, Oklahoma is not good, neither is Seton hall (is Hazzell back?). But i could see us dropping one of those.

Xavier game will be interesting. ALways is. We are the better team tho

i think there is going to be a letdown. Miami is a trap game. 14-1.

as for the SHU question- Hazell just had surgery the other day. I would guess that if he is back by then, he will not be 100% or at least be very rusty.

I think UC goes 15-0 into the Big East..

Miami- coles always has a tough squad and they will play strong defense but if memory serves me right the hayes kid(or there point guard) is gone and he always hurt CINCY,,

Oklahoma- they are seriously rebuilding, they do have some athletes but remind me of the first squad Cronin brought in.

Xavier- You see what Cincy did to repay a team from last year and i think they do the same to X.. Even though its in our house, its hard to play 5 on 8 ( the refs).. If the Refs are making calls on both sides of the court, then we have to much for them... Contain Holloway and you Contain X.. I think Dayton comes together to challenge for the A10 title..

This is without a doubt the best team UC has had since Cronin started.. There are no stars and there passing and defense is better than ever. You know that they are going to play awesome defense so if there offense progresses the way i think, they are going to be really tough to beat. This is the year Cincy is in the top half of the League and goes to the tournament. Mark My words..

They are saying 4-6 weeks on Hazell but more than likely it will be closer to 6 weeks based on everything I read. I don't see him being back for the game.

I don't see Miami being the trap game others have mentioned for a couple of reasons. First off, they beat XU. That will cause the UC players to take notice. Second, we are playing them at their house. Road games are easier to maintain focus when you are playing a lesser opponent than home games. Third, if this team is not taking things for granted against an 0-7 Toledo team, why would anyone expect them to take anything for granted against Miami?

I look for UC to beat Miami handily. I also look for UC to handle business against XU this year. Oklahoma scares me a bit because they are good one day and bad the next. I think that game is the closest OOC game left on the schedule. I still expect UC to win all of these games. 15-0 is realistic in my opinion.

I try not to look ahead too far and this team shouldn't either. They should be favored in every game between now and then. As far as the road games go, we've played our best two games away from the Shoe this year. Mick said last year the team responded best when away from campus. Wherever we sit going into the X game, hopefully this team feeds off the energy the home crowd will finally bring and beat the snot out of them.

i dont think you can really call the shootout a revenge game. even if our guys are jacked- xu will still match it in terms of emotion. it is the pinnacle of the year for XU still- and they are always ready no matter what. plus you have to count on Dante Jackson or someone going off for a career game out of left field and hitting 6/6 threes, and every XU player hitting every big shot possible, XU starting a fight- and UC getting more T's than XU for retaliating. its not a revenge game its a survival game.

I would like to agree with that, but that's just not the case any more. It could be in the future, but thats just not true for this year, and it hasn't been the case for the past couple of years. They do play Butler, Gonzaga and Florida, all of which are bigger games for them.

You really believe this? First of all, rivalry aside, there's a chance at the end of the year the Bearcats will be the highest rated RPI team of these four opponents at the end of the year. Secondly these are all non-conference opponents. No one on campus is giving them crap for losing to or giving them accolades for beating these teams (any more so than any other game). Xavier always gives their best effort vs. us and not so much these other guys or in their conference -- even with Dayton. I might would give you if given the choice of winning their conference or beating UC they would choose to win their conference, but make no mistake the biggest game of the year for them is UC. It's in their pedigree. That's why they've gotten the better of us in the series lately. Huggins always treated it like another game and we never matched their intensity. Cronin doesn't treat it that way so hopefully in the future, actually the present, we treat this like the rivalry it is.

I just don't think that is true. Everyone likes to say it, but it was also considered hell week for the players. I garuntee he did not treat it like it was "just another game."

"We'd get nothing but hell every day," Moore said. "It was more intense. You could see the passion in him that week."

I do think UC has the potential to be the biggest game of the year, and about 10 years ago it was probably the biggest. With UC's recent demise there is no way that UC was/is considered X's biggest game of the year any more. For the fans? Maybe. When it comes to trash talking and such, but for the team, doubtful. That's especially true in recent years.

Where is that quote from Moore from?

UC and XU may not be the biggest games of the year in terms of overall picture but to the average fan it is without a doubt.

miami game is going to be tougher than people think but we will still win a low scoring defensive struggle and therefore making us 15-0 on January 6th at 9 pm

I would put the over under at 1 loss. Maybe 0 maybe 2 at most. Every team has a let down here and there...if the other team is playing well in the same game...we can be beat.

14-1

Offensively UC really cant get that much worse, with exception to a couple games this year. They are playing like they did last year in the Big East tournament. They are forcing teams to play sloppy and there defense is unbelievable.. I really do believe that UC is one of the top 8 teams in the league(BEAST), Whether or not they have the talent to match it is not seen yet. It comes down to the question of what is better to have, young talent or a group of guys who play with in themselves and play hard defense? I will be let down if they dont go 15-0 before the conference.. Its time Us die hard fans and the players and even Cronin have the ball bounce our way and be back in the tournament..
