I would like to agree with that, but that's just not the case any more. It could be in the future, but thats just not true for this year, and it hasn't been the case for the past couple of years. They do play Butler, Gonzaga and Florida, all of which are bigger games for them.

i dont see XU starting fights in the first half against any of those schools as they did the last two years versus UC. the whole benches even cleared last year. it may not be as important for the ncaa resume the past few years, but it emotionally the game they have the most invested in.

XU is awful, Chris Mack was a very bad hire, Mike Bobinski finally struck out!

Mack's first recruiting class, this year's freshman, flat out stinks. Griffen McKenzie would be a good player - at NKU.

His recruiting class for next year fell apart before signing day. The longer Mack is the HC the worse XU will get.

I agree and nothing makes me happier. :D

Ralph your usually on top of things but I don't completely agree here. I know X fans are going to yell about making the sweet 16 but I think sean miller and jordan crawford deserve the credit. However I will also not call this freshman class a bust. They are freshman. Their best one did not qualify. The book is still out on Mack. He came into the complete different situation than Mick. I will say it seems Mack isn't too bothered by character issue or grade issue guys. Doesn't bother me cause I don't care all that much but traditionally X fans seem to.

We will know all we need to as far as the shootout is concerned in regards to X very soon after they run that upcoming gauntlet they have:

Dec. 9 Vs. Butler
Dec. 18 Vs. Wake
Dec. 22 @ Gonzaga
Dec. 28 Vs. Albany
Dec. 31 Vs. Florida

If they go 2-3 in that stretch it would have to be considered a success considering how they've played so far.

That's a bit of a harsh statement to make, considering they are 7 games deep into their first year at college. Calling a recruiting class a bust after 7 games in their careers is one of the dumbest things a college basketball fan can even say. After 7 games, who in the NCAA didn't bust then? Lets not forget their best recruit is not eligible yet.

They are actually doing a far better job at recruiting than previous X coaches, the book is out on how the develop players like previous X coaches did.

Mack did get his team to the sweet 16 last year, almost the elite 8. They weren't all his players, but he was on the staff recruiting a lot of the guys. Talent alone can't get to the sweet sixteen, or seconds from the elite 8. He may end up being a bad hire, but IMO it's far too early to tell.

However, if 7 games is enough to tell a recruiting class, then a sweet 16 should be enough to tell a coach right ralph? LOL

I don't know about a success. IMO they should expect 2-3 in that stretch. Wake is a joke and I really don't know much about Albany, but I'm assuming they should beat them. However, they have been playing like crap so I don't think it's safe to assume anything.

Typically, over the past five years I'd agree with you... but this is a different team... and as I said, with the type of ball they are playing right now, 2-3 would be a success and 3-2 would be brilliant.
