I agree. I'll be honest I don't know much about our assistants and if they're considered good or not. That in and of itself could indicate we could use some new meat on the sidelines. I do believe Cronin to be a good coach, I don't think he's done as good a job as maybe he could. I got to believe the assistants could be part of the problem.

I have actually said for over a year that my biggest disappointment is that Mick never shook up his coaching staff season before last. Assistants are directly responsible for player development.

Bump everyone on the staff up a notch and give Nicky V a job. I think he'd take it. Who doesn't think it would be beneficial to have him for recruiting purposes?

I know, I'm dreaming, but I swear it makes way too much sense.

I still believe that they need a assistant coach who will light some of these players up. No one on this coaching staff is a yeller... sometimes its what they need.

Where do I apply?

Apply all you want but I'd rather have someone with some coaching experience (the YMCA Beer League doesn't count). I think it is important to find someone who is offensive minded and a tireless recruiter. Our offense has been so predictable the last couple years and I think that is the reason we end up taking so many bad, late in the shot clock, contested shots.

Then you haven't been paying attention. Watch George Jackson in action for a few minutes at a practice.

this job likely goes to Andre Tate or Rodney Crawford

Darren Savino coming back? Zagsblog says he's the leader. He gives them a solid east coast recruiting connection and he has worked with Mick before. I'd go young and energetic. I'd look at some of the top mid-major programs for a solid charimatic recruiter, or I would raid a high D1 school for a coach with a tie to the south or east coast.

Nick would bring plenty of fire and an NBA name to the program, but I don't think he's ready for this. and by the way George Jackson will light you up without hesitation.

Great job Bearcat Jeff. No one else on the other Bearcat sites has the story about Savino becoming the new assistant coach. Also, thanks for all your recruiting info.
