A bum???? Coach has mentioned his contributions go far beyond the court. Calling him a bum is entirely inappropriate.

Bum may have been a bit harsh, but him being a senior missing wide open shots, not making free throws, slow and rarely making plays. He has stayed the same player all four years of college. he may be a good motivator and somewhat of a leader but it is not by the way he plays basketball.

Come now, he goes with quantity over quality, obviously.

While I don't think insulting with "bum" for sanders is appropriate, the gripe with his performance on court is very legitimate. There's only so much respecting his teammates can do without a decent backup of it on court. I think sanders is capable of getting back into the groove though, I just think he gets in is own head mentally. Let's go jermaine, we now you'll be big for us down the stretch!

I've been offline all day. Haven't read everything, but let's clean this stuff up. No need to bicker in-house during a winning streak. Thoughts on players are what they are (and can reveal a lot about your individual character), but let's keep things in check between fellow posters.

so if i worked for you and I only came in to work once month that would be good when I was no call no show other days?

I manage my expectations. I don't care about his stats anymore. Or what he was recruited as, or any of that. I just know he stepped up huge for us as the only senior and was the best player in our best win and helped us turn our season around.

If you want to say he hasn't played well I'm fine with that. To call him a bum is what I had the problem with.

Heres something else some may want to consider. Instead of wasting time signaling out a player who is obviously slumping. You may want to focus on a couple who have stepped up.

Shaq, is a 4 year player who's game has not yet caught up with his atheltism. Some reasoning could be style we have played and some talent. He was benched and rather then sit and sulk,he supported his team and tried to turn his game around when given the opportunity. He is making the most of his second opportunity.

KJ has done the same thing. Demoted and suffering the ire of the fans. He hasn't sat there and pouted. He has embraced his role and tried to make his statement with his play. His game yesterday was his best as a Cat. You can bet he goes to class, works hard in practice and supports the decision of the Staff without blaming them for his problems but taking responsibility for his lack of game.

Both these players have looked in the mirror and decided to battle not find fault with others. Others on the team could learn a valuable lesson on how these kids have handled adversity. For them watching a kid like Sanders may have been the thing that has helped them get through the tuff times. Their ability to except their short comings and work harder to improve are a coaches dream. Many times players sulk, complain and divide the team. These 3 have not. It's a huge reason we are celebrating our 5th straight season of 20 wins and hopefully a 5th straight trip to the Dance.

Great post! Tulsa will be a tall order at their place. They are a good team. If we can win the next 2 games I would this season would exceed most expectations with all the new parts.

Member since Feb 2014. Number of posts worth reading, 0. He's outscored you.

That is ridiculous. Many may not like Bulldogs take on things, but he's been fairly accurate on a number of issues. Just because everything isn't a rose garden in Bulldogs book doesn't mean his posts aren't worth reading.

Didn't get to watch the game but sounds like by all accounts they played pretty well. Nice to see them play well for 2 1/2 games in a row now, granted against terrible competition. Nice to see KJ step up. Again, didn't see the game but his stat line looked good and he was making his shots.

Your right we are entitled to our opinions. There's just no need to call the kid a bum. I have a problem with that. Say he's not playing well which he's not but a bum is a poor choice imo

Did I see that DeBerry was the only guy to have more than 1 turnover? Nice.
Nice to work on this "new" offensive and defensive style (reading that LD and Mick are working on more pressing man to man D) against 3 lower level opponents. Now they get to test their mettle against a pretty good Tulsa team on their floor. I've been to that gym - a nice facility that can be loud when they fill it. Looking forward to seeing how UC responds to the challenge of this week.

Another good thing about adding wrinkles to your offense and defense late in the season is that it makes you harder to prepare for, and easier for your team to adapt to the game as it's playing out on the floor. Love the response we're seeing from the players as they get to open things up a little bit. They were hitting a wall and this change in style seems to have reinvigorated them a bit. Kudos to LD and Mick, kudos to the players, hope it continues.

Shaq and KJ - keep playing smart and aggressive. Let's see how they respond when met with a little tougher opponent. Shaq has backed down in the past when he's met resistance in the paint. Hope he's learned some lessons.
