Give me a break. We've all lost people close to us and most have had health scares of our own. That was not the venue to bring these things up. He was deflecting from his epic failure as a coach and not taking responsibility for his ineptitude. His job (that he is handsomely rewarded to do) is to win basketball games not lecture me on health/wellness.

He won 31 games. He won 61 in 2 seasons.

There is a podcast called Breakaway hosted by Rob Mahoney I think from SI. One of the episodes is called System and it features Mike D'Antoni. It basically lays out how we should be playing. Would be awesome to get an asst from Marshall to teach Cronin a few things. There's another episode with Wayne Ellington about shooting that is worth listening to. All the episodes are good on that podcast. Straight from NBA players/coaches mouths.

In the System episode they straight up say that there is an overly schemed, overcoached version of basketball out there that needs to go. And anyone can play the system that D'Antoni does, but the coach has to do the hardest thing for them to do, which is to let go. Really describes our situation imo.

Cumberland could be the James Harden of college basketball next year. Get Broome, Williams, and Logan Johnson going in the pick and roll too, and that's not so bad. If Diarra can spread the floor from the 4, we can have the spacing for a good offense to work. Scott can at least play out of the high post and pass from outside the 3 point line. He will have to take the wide open ones from out there. And our 5s need to be roll men and true 5s. No more traditional post up game.

The problem is, Jenifer will walk it up and we will run sets and isos and score 60 in AAC play instead. And the lane will be clogged with someone like Diarra trying to learn how to post instead of ripping 3s. Then we'll say that our players can't drive. Or shoot.
