I've been fearing this game since we played UCF at home. Just have an awful feeling about this. Think it will be an epic struggle to score. Hope I am wrong but think this game will be in the 50's and at that point, it's anyone's game. Hope we keep Williams in check from 3 and Taylor out of the paint.

Our first of 2 away games that just happen to be Senior night games for the opposing teams.

A few things to worry about this game:
-the way we score on the road
-the UCF defends
-Playing on Matt Williams senior night

Williams shoots 10 3's a game and is a 42% 3 point shooter at home and just a 33% shooter on the road.

BJ Tyson also a much better overall shooter at home. So Expect better offense from UCF and maybe even some senior magic for Williams.

We are no doubt the better team. Its not even close. Its just, this game will be a grinder where our 3's probably won't fall and their's might. In a low possession game, thats scary.

I hope our team doesn't have this same attitude. It would be nice if they came out and played on the road as if they knew they were the better team.

This and the uconn game are games I honestly don't care how we look, and that we just win. If it's an ugly 1 point win I won't care. Just finish the season with 1 loss and get ready for the conference tourney

For sure. I hope our defense was as good the first time we played them. We pressured the hell out of them and forced so many turnovers. We gotta find a way to generate points in transition.

I'm more concerned about UCF than I am about UCONN.

I think we handle Houston at home.

I'd love to win out, but 27-4 doesn't sound to shabby either. :D

Not sure. It's definitely a question I have going into the game. Will UC be able to put up enough points and will our defense be as effective as it was in the first matchup?

You would think not every game on the road HAS to be a bad shooting night.

Are we not due?

I use to think that but I have learned better with this team. I definitely wouldn't think any different against this UCF team. It's going to be brutal to watch. Normally I want to see a comfy victory on the road against lesser competition but I just want to win tmrw anyway possible.

I agree that it'll likely be a brutal game. I'm just hoping that Kyle comes out as aggressive as he was last time out against them...he had 10 of our first 16 points and really got us going.
I also think that Cumberland is going to have a huge game...no stats to back it, just a feeling.

Jarron hasn't been able to play well on the road all year, I'd be surprised if it changes tmrw. Of course, I hope you're right though. One thing is for sure, we are going to need to push the pace and get the ball down the court quickly. Again, not sure we will see that but playing a half court game is setting up UCF for success.

If we drive and get to the line and don't shoot 30 3s we should win easy. think that can be said every game tho

UCF gives up fewer points than UC - (raw pts. Not adjusted) - no reason we would score a ton - only AAC team better than them in pts. Allowed is SMU

In Conference only, the stats are different though. UC and SMU are the only teams who have been holding conference opponents under 60 (we are both giving up 58 points a game). Uconn actually has been holding teams to lower scoring than UCF. UCF is giving up 64 points in conference. Which is really good, but not as good as they did in the non conference and not amazing being as we play in a offensively challenged league.

Our defensive efficiency got better in conference play ( as it should against Bad AAC offense) whereas UCF's defense has gotten worse in conference play. UCF is nationally #22 in kenpom Defense, but if they played D like they have in the AAC all year it would be more like #40.

That all said, their defense is good strictly from forcing you to miss a lot. You play us and we force you to miss AND turn you over. UCF doesn't do that at all. So you do get more possessions.

IF we just hit 6-7 3's, attack tacko fall to get him in foul trouble and then Keep Matt Williams from lighting us up, and will be fine.
