I will be there and I am looking forward to the game. It is our first chance to see how this team bounces back after a loss. It should be a win.

I am thinking UC 76 USF 59

USF at No. 25 Cincinnati

When/where: 7; Fifth Third Arena, Cincinnati

TV/radio: BHSN; 1250-AM

Records: USF 6-11, 0-4 Big East; Cincinnati 15-1, 2-1

Notable: So many stats working against USF tonight. Cincy is 11-0 at home; USF is 0-6 on the road. Cincinnati has the Big East's top scoring defense, allowing 54.9 points per game, while USF has the league's lowest-scoring offense at 62.5 points. Cincinnati leads the league in turnover margin, while USF ranks last. … The Bearcats are led by 6-3 G Dion Dixon (12.6 ppg) and 6-9 F Yancy Gates (12.1 ppg, 7.2 rpg), while USF counters with 6-10 Augustus Gilchrist (13 ppg) and 6-4 G Jawanza Poland (10.2). … USF is 1-11 against teams in the RPI top 150 this season, and Cincinnati's RPI is 57. USF's is 127. …The Bearcats are coming off their first loss, 73-62 at Villanova on Sunday.

Not good. Expect limited minutes if this is the case.

If Dixon doesn't go, does Kilpatrick start at the SG? Or is it Davis? I'd like to think Killa because we do need SOME offense in the starting lineup.

I think this game is closer than most think, but I hope I'm wrong.

Cincinnati 65
South Florida 58

I will be there, hoping they bounce back well. Should be a good game to get some things in order and hopefully get it under control early so some of the sick and injured can get some rest. If Dion is not feeling well expect to see a lot of KS and Larry tonight. Also probably means we see more of Parker since Dion won't be able to play point as much if Cash is out of the game.

I'd like to see Larry get the start. He's a senior and I think he deserves it. Bring Dixon off the bench if he feels well enough to play. We need him to feel better for the ND game.

Just updated the twitter page. Looks like Larry getting the start.

This from Dion on Twitter:

DDixon3 I am playing tonight Ppl even if I'm sick not gonna stop me from playing....

Finally got home. Just turned on the tv.
Zero points by Thomas, a few by Gates. Where is the leadership from the bigs??

How is Cash doing tonite??

Cash played pretty well. Hit his free throws. SK and Dixon were the big offensive threats tonight. SK was on fire and Dixon played strong. A good team effort tonight. Gates didn't do much offensively but played pretty good defense. I'll take the win. 16-1.

I'll take the win. Go on road now. I'd be happy if they win 1 out of the three.

Here is my observations from the game tonight,
First off i would like to tip my hat to South Florida, they have the size and athleticism to atleast compete with anyone in the nation. They play extremely hard and are a couple pieces away from being a very good basketball team.

Sean Kilpatrick- He really can score, he has to demand the ball more often and its going to be hard to keep him off the floor for so long. his defense is good and he can drive and dish, when his 3pt shot is falling, he is very good. i also love the way he is passing.

Cash- he is the catalyst for this team, UC will really only go as far as he takes them. Kid can blow by anyone and had a couple good dishes, he might be worse than Adam Hyrencieniuk at missing layups. He got over the free throws, he really needs to get over the layups, he will be vastly improved if he does this.

Dion- might be the best rebounder at the guard spot for a guard in the nation. His 3 pt shot in unreliable and thats something that he needs to work on. Might be a Mechanics issue.

Larry- did not really look to get his shot, he is by far the best mover without the ball with the exception of maybe SK. To push Cincy over the top he will have to bring his shot every game.

Rashad- Solid game, he defends well and he has alot of potential to take the ball to basket. I like when he has ball in his hands.

Ibrahima- Needs to assert himself more. he needs to be the one who comes out farther from the basket like Gates does. other than that he is not playing well, but i think we all thought he would regress from out of conference to the Big East.

Yancey- still plays to far from basket and needs to make passes quicker than he does. he will always tinker with 10-12 pts and 6 to 7 rebounds a games because of size and strength. I think he is getting better, but he has a whole lot more potential. If he hits his 20 ft fadeaways he will look untouchable if hes not hitting them he will just put up solid numbers.

Bench Team- Uc is one of the deepest teams in the Big East and thats something to be proud of, Other than the Center spot they can replace all 5 guys with very little downfall.
USF is no pushover and I am suprised there record was or is not better. Can they beat Syracuse to finally prove that they are legit. I have not seen Syracuse alot this year and think UC has a very legit shot of winning there and at Notre Dame, they have to start shooting at a better clip from the 3 and from the foul line. Gates has to good of a touch to shoot that bad,JJ couldnt hit a Ft if his life depended on it and they are all very stressful to watch while on the line.. I think this win is alot better than what people will give them credit for.. GO CATS!!!!!

Cash had a very good game in my opinion. He ran the offense, got penetration, and brought the pressure on defense. This team is a different team when Cash is not effective or on the floor. Killa was great tonight. I continue to be impressed with his handles and use of his body while attacking the rim. Give it up to Dixon. The kid was noticeably sick, but he played his game regardless. He might be the team's best rebounder. Gates did not have a 'standout' night. He was a solid body down low, and did not allow USF's size to deter the Cats defense. To me, Gates looked like he might be sick as well. It just seemed liked he was very fatigued (not from work, but like he was sick). His efforts and his fight were evident, but it just seemed like something was hindering his abilities. Let's hope he rejuvenates before Saturday. Wilks played a great game tonight. With extended playing time due to Thomas' struggles, Wilks displayed some really nice passing skills. In my opinion, the Cats full court press is most effective when Wilks and Cash are on the floor. I am not saying Wilks should be starting, but I do believe that his athleticism and length allows him to create a lot of pressure defensively. Overall, after coming off a loss sunday, this was a good win. 16-1! Hopefully they can go to Syracuse and make a statement.
Go Bearcats!
