VCU is not a very good team this year, they're 5-4 and in the first year under a new HC.

UC has to find a way to this game with Iowa St coming into town next week. We can't afford to drop a game against VCU that we should win.

Bottom line is that good teams win this game, if we're a good team we need to find a way to win or come to terms with the fact that maybe we aren't as good as we all hoped for.

Winning on the road against a top 100 team (VCU is probably closer to top 50), is a tough thing in college basketball. I do agree that this is a litmus test for the rest of our season, we really need this win...pretty much as close to a must win in mid-December can be.

VCU's record is very misleading. Their 4 losses are from Duke, Wisconsin, Florida St. and Georgia Tech.

Please believe they have been tested early this year and won't be overwhelmed with UC. This will be just as tough for us as playing at Xavier. VCU is just as hungry for a big win. They, like UC are losing chances to capitalize on getting win's against good OCC teams.

This is a must win in December and will be a complete gut check for UC.

Not sure about that.

VCU is not very good......neither are Wisconsin, FSU or Georgia Tech for that matter. I'm not saying this will be an easy win, I'm saying a good team finds a way to win this game. If we're a true top 25 team and the kind of team that is equipped to make a run in the NCAA's then it's time to step up and prove it. Take care of business on the road against a tough but very beatable opponent.

No more excuses, no more setting the stage for how tough the opponent is so we can feel better when we lose. Just show up and handle your business.

Definitely. We are better than they are. Time to play like it.

If they don't go crazy from three we should win. Check this out:

At 50.9%, VCU ranks 331 in FG% on shots near the rim.

On such shots, Cincy def. ranks first in opponent FG% (42.8%) and blocks (22.2%)

I def. agree with you and feel the same way. I was just trying to say, they have faced quality player talent in size, speed and skill in their losses. Facing UC player's won't be too over whelming for them. So our guys better have the mindset to play like men. Its a reality check for our players. They want national recognition, they better learn how to bring it and win games like Saturday.

Not sure about that.

I was meaning it will be another tough road environment for UC. I realize they aren't facing a skilled team like X but it will be an amped environment. Their gym is smaller, they get good fan support and we are a Top 25 team coming to play them.

I am more concerned that they are desperate for a marquee OOC win combined with our inability to play focused for 40 minutes. Not to mention they have a kid in Melvin Johnson that can take over the game.

Amen. Completely agree with that. Also add in that no one else on their team is shooting well this year. I could see some guy(s) break out of that slump against us. Just always seems to conveniently happen.

Ah gotcha. I saw somewhere earlier that this is the 6th AP ranked team they've hosted in the last 17 years. VCU is 4-1 in the previous 5.

Just hope we finally play like men and impose our will physically. Ellis needs to relax and not trying hurry everything. We go as far as Ellis takes us this year.

CBS sports, we meet again.

How long was the deal we signed with them, and is there any way out
