Where does Cashmere Wright rank

Thats just flat out incorrect.

He was lousy. He shot poorly, barely had that many assists and played mediocore defense. The only credit I give him, is someone had to play point on a point guard-less team.
James White even played out of position at one point, because Muhammad couldn't handle it.

I remember 4 things from Jihad. First, that game against Northern Iowa (I think) where he had a ridiculous stretch in the second half to force OT. Second, when he had a clutch stretch against Xavier his senior year draining 3's. Third, missing the half court shot at MSG after McNamara traveled and hit a 3 to give Cuse the lead. Fourth, being too much of a dumb ass to go to class and bailing on the team in the NIT.

I agree with others that Cash has his senior year to play before judging him. But, considering what he's been through with a developing program, learning how to play point at the college level and recovering (and playing) through a serious knee injury I'd say he's shown an incredible amount of heart and dedication and has developed year to year very well. I agree that he hit multiple clutch shots last year and believe he has really learned what it takes to facilitate and distribute the basketball. If he stays healthy this coming season, he will leave a lasting impact on this program.

I think he already has, but he can certainly make a bigger splash this year.

When if Cash coulda played the entire game against O$U, it would have been a close one. He left the court and our chances walked off with him.

not sure i agree with that at all. cashmere fouled out with about 1:30 left in the game and we were down 12. we had been down 10-12 points since the 6 minute mark and uc wasn't making any runs or scaring ohio state during that span since osu opened the game up around the 6 minute mark. saying we would have made it close in the final 90 seconds down 12 when uc basically got outclassed and exhausted the final 6 minutes of the games is a stretch.

sullinger rendered gates ineffective on offense and gates did nothing on the defensive glass. the team became too reliant on cashmere, he started dribbling too much much and craft started turning him over late. osu had superior talent and we did not have the depth last year to negate their talent. in a 40 minute, we both played 6 guys (plus a minute or two here and there for other players), and their 6 were more skilled and just better than uc's 6.

with that being said, i think cashmere is the best point guard we have had since satterfield and will be a top 2 point guard in the big east this year. however, uc wasn't going to be making that game close with or without him.
