Played really hard. Never quit. Love this team. Almost all freshmen and sophomores in the 2nd half
Davenport with that offensive rebound on the free throw. Even know he missed his that rebound was huge!

Our defense in this game was simply incredible. They hit a bunch of tough shots and midrange jumpers and still couldn't crack 60.
Tari made some dumb plays, but he was huge defending the rim and pulling down defensive rebounds. Davenport did a good job on the glass too. He can be an effective defensive 4 against guys his size.
Why was Saunders on the bench the last 6-8
minutes ? Maybe MAW provided bit more
length defensively ?
Btw, MAW looked a bit hobbled today- I think
he got rocked in yesterday’s game.
Agree. Tari seemed more active/aggressive today
on both ends.
Maw is our best foul shooter
I just love watching these guys compete. The transformation the past month with the young guys has been incredible. The defense today was outstanding. Brannen ball getting it done.
We need more players. That’s no secret. We need help in a couple areas. Bigs and a good wing. But we are getting there. Every win is something more brannen can sell to recruits or transfersI love that we clamped down and got the win, but we really struggled to score without Keith. The only other guys who can reliably get in the lane are Saunders and DeJulius. I still think we need to bring in a wing to replace that aspect of his game (and his rebounding ability).
Tari had 14 boards, 3 steals and 3 blocks, 1 assist on 4 turnovers. That’s a positive impact
I am starting to believe, I thought SMU just played poorly yesterday, but we brought it today. WSU couldn't find an open shot and Tari/Davenport beat them on the inside despite being undersized.
Still a lot to cleanup, especially from Tari. But Tari does more good than bad and I'll take him any time over Vogt.
Wonder how much energy these guys have left for tomorrow though. Hard to play that hard on defense 3 days in a row, especially with our limited depth. Considering Houston and Memphis both have the depth/size advantage I'm not expecting much tomorrow, but I wasn't even expecting us to still be playing at this point, so it's house money.
I do wonder if the refs calling very few fouls have helped us. They've let teams play in all the tournament games (sometimes too much) and considering we foul a lot and can't afford to get into foul trouble that favors us. But I'm a bit worried about facing a team like Houston when the refs are letting guys get away with a lot. With the way the refs have been calling things, Houston will probably commit 100 fouls and have 15 called.
Mad Dog changed the game. We couldn’t make a 3 with Tari and DD etc. Davenport couldn’t get open. Mason straight up threw daggers and we need two shooters in the game against Houston.
Mason high scores two games in three now. He’s lightning in a bottle!
