I really want to get other peoples opinion on this.

I think we could really have something special going into next year, but our schedule doesn't look that impressive. A conference championship game will help, but outside of who ever are the best teams in conference we face who do we play.

I guess i'm just worried we will get the "Marshall treatment" with the playoff comity.

In my mind we have to win out this year and win our bowl game and finish in the top 25. Hopefully we can start off there next year and win every game and climb our way up the rankings.

So basically I want to know what you guys think about how important it is for us to win out and maybe end the year in the top 25?

Also for those of you that are good at predicting where teams will sit going into next year. Who are going to be the best teams we face?

Do we have a chance at the playoffs next year if we win out?

IMO I think 1 loss almost certainly sinks us.

That being said im really enjoying watching every game this year. Gunner Kiel and the offense are fun to watch, and the fact they are returning almost everyone next year on O has be thinking we have something in the works here in Cincinnati.

Thanks for reading I look forward to hearing what you all have to say.

Cheers and GO CATS!!!!

I enjoy the Football Cats as well.winning out this year and finishing in top 25 certainly won't hurt. Looking forward to going to renovated Nippert as well. Shore up the defense and build on the offense and I see a bright future for the Cats. Need to get in a better conference is priority 1.

I'm not that good at predicting future outcomes in college football. But I am excited for next year, mainly bc of renovated Nippert. I walked by on Sunday before the basketball game and man does it look awesome! I really wish they would move the choir building and continue the upper level around because that would look really intimidating for opposing teams. I know it won't happen but wishful thinking. My one concern is the new side is going to look so massive and nice and the other side is going to look weeeeak. Lol

I'm happy with how the defense has responded over the course of the season especially with some key secondary losses. Next will be a good glimpse in player development and the growth of early Tuberville recruiting classes success. It looks like the Cats are graduating a lot on the OL, LB, and RB. I'm looking forward to another step forward though.

It's easy to win when you are playing garbage opponents like Tulane, USF, Connecticut and SMU. Hell, even ECU sucks now. UC will still continue to get blown out by anyone with a pulse like they did against Miami (FL), Ohio State, Memphis, Illinois, North Carolina, etc... UC football coming up small since...well...forever!

I was thinking the same thing when I walk buy. If that whole stadium was enclosed this way we would be incredibly big time. We'd also potentially open a sinkhole from all the weight in that area.

Of course you remember those but forget the thrashings of B1G members Purdue and Rutgers, along with recent beatings of Pitt and VA Tech, a couple close calls with UL, and a Duke win. You clearly hate the football program and are so clearly biased against it, so why even post in the football section? Honestly curious.

I don't think can make the playoffs with our schedule next year, but I don't think we will get Marshall treatment either. If we go 12-0 or 11-1 we have a great shot at the access bowl. Even 10-2 might put us in the mix. Winning out this year does probably play a small roll in giving us a jump start towards that.

Should have lost to Duke as they were driving in for the winning score but they fumbled. They won Virginia Tech on a miracle play. Purdue was 1-11 last year...Rutgers was just okay. Close calls with UofL?? LOL.

Yeah I walked by and couldn't help but take some pictures and wonder the same thing. That building is just taking up seats. It should look really nice once completed though! I love Nippert and games at PBS don't compete. Ready for them to be back on campus. Hopefully our defense continues the success they showed against UConn for the remaining 2 games. Next year we return some key receivers and the defense should be much improved. I think winning the 2 games, and our bowl game will provide some nice momentum

Let me guess.... You're a Buckeye fan?

I think there's no way we sniff the rankings this year if we were to win out. If we do the voters are even dumber than I think they are. Our schedule is weak. East Carolina is the only win we've had, maybe Toledo, that you could even argue the team is decent. With that said, we need to win out and carry whatever momentum we have into next year. If Gunner can improve his deep balls they could be scary good on offense. Cincinnati, due to it's two BCS bowls and Big East crowns, is a respected name as a non-power 5 school. There were people this year predicting us to get a big bowl as the best non-power 5 school. I think the same will apply for next year.
