Did anyone see the X vs Gonzaga game? Within the first 5 minutes McClean viciously close lined a Gonzaga player going in for a lay up. The ref immediately called an intentional foul. I was wondering if the Spokane prosecutor might revue the tape and charge him with assault at the time. Seems to me Xavier does not have good basketball players so they resorted to thuggery to try to win games.

I just watched the replay of the game on espn3, could not agree with you more. They should have thrown him out on that play. As for the rest of their team after that malicious hit, one word, THUGS! What was that lyons going to do? He would not scare middle schoolers on the court. As for the game as a whole, watching X play is like watching Obama "run" our country....comical but yet truly sad. I hope when UC plays them they treat them like the nobodies they are and not fall into the dirty tricks X will try to commit.

Hard fouls will never bother me. I saw Dante Jackson connect on a forearm to the head. It was intentional but I don't get all excited about that.

Xavier is not the little nice catholic school some perceive. They are nasty. I have seen them get into altercation or into others faces at least 3 teams this year and in the last two games.

Holloway and Lyons have a toughness to them.

This was a lot more than a hard foul. The replay shows McClain taking his arm and intentionally clothes lining the Gonzaga player in my opinion. The ref called an intentional foul on the play so he saw it, to me McClain was intentionally attempting to hurt the Gonzaga player. Dirty basketball at its worst.

Man, you are old school if you think he should have been tossed for that. DANTE, looked like he was at least at one point trying for the ball. You need to take your glasses off if you think he was trying to injure the dude. "Dirty Basketball at it's worse."

Nope, I have watched the replay several times, McClain made no attempt at the ball, he was out to hurt the player with a vicious clothes line, the referee called the intentional foul as the referee saw the same thing, a player trying to hurt another player with no attempt at going for the ball. Dirty basketball at its worst.

It was definately Dante Jackson. It was a very hard foul. I could see an arguement for going for the ball but it did look bad. Again, doesn't bother me at all.

The ref called an intentional foul. Intentional fouls are called if you are fouling someone on purpose, they are not called if you are going for the ball. To me the replay shows the X player was trying to do harm to the Gonzaga player, thus, exremely dirty play.

It's up to the coach to stop that kind of play. I hate Duke, but I don't see their players doing things like that...to often. :)

There is an old saying "a team tends to take on the personality of its coach".

When Chris Mack played at Evansville he intentionally threw the basketball into the face of a Dayton player.

I have heard some things about his teams when he was the coach of mnd in the ggcl. They played borderline dirty from what I remember hearing.
