I guess that's the point. When you're in the bonus, you want to draw any kind of foul. He doesn't even try. It's not his game.

It's so extreme I wonder if it's worth it to play him less once we get in bonus.

That list could be taking some hits this year. Here it is.... Kansas Duke Michigan St Gonzaga Wisconsin (in serious jeopardy) Louisville Ohio State (in serious jeopardy) San Diego St (in serious jeopardy) VCU (bubble) Cincinnati (bubble) North Carolina

Kenpom is good if you know what you're looking at. The advantage of that site is that it does a nice job of taking the opponent noise out of the numbers. Yes, teams like Pitt will still break it early in the season by dominating garbage so efficiently, but on the whole it's not an easy system...

    Memphis

Memphis has played a weak schedule so it's hard to tell a lot, but they are long and athletic. They can run the floor and get back in transition on D. They rebound pretty well. They have some skilled offensive players, but they are doomed by wasted possessions and terrible shot selection when...

At this point, I have shifted to focusing on making a run pretty soon mainly because that's all that's missing. That doesn't mean I'm automatically calling for jobs if it doesn't happen, but that's what I'm asking for. We're consistently good. We are interesting. We compete for league...

    2016-17 OOC Schedule

I have specifically asked the athletic department about this in the past and have been told the better low majors of the world know this and charge WAY more for a buy game than those 300+ teams. For the absolute bottom of the barrel conferences like the SWAC, the problem is slightly...

    Temple: Round 2

Not sure who else saw that finish last night, but they tied the game with 2 seconds left after they had been fouling to stop the clock. Memphis threw it in and a Temple kid immediately fouled him with 1 second left... I'm pretty sure he thought they were still behind and fouling. Ouch

I think it's just hard for a lot of people to accept that our "best player" isn't averaging more points. We're desperate for a go-to player and that isn't really Troy's game. It's easy for fans to get hung up on what a player is not instead of appreciating what he does well. Oh, and defense.

Even if this ends up being a factor, the RPI will take care of itself. This happens every year that 10-20 low majors hang out in the 30-60 range until they get in the meat of their conference schedule. Pretty much any loss kills them and they eventually take a bad loss because they're all bad...

    What's it going to take?

Those 2 usually work themselves out. Whichever one isn't in foul trouble gets the minutes regardless of starter. I wouldn't mind the switch anyway though just to see how Ellis reacts.

    What's it going to take?

2 years ago. Miles better at defense and rebounding.... barely worse at offense. SK Jackson Rubles Shaq Sanders Troy KJ Guyn Morman

    What's it going to take?

I don't think it's our most talented team. It's just the one that's best at offense.

    2015-2016 Season

KJ is decent in the press on D. That's one thing. He can sometimes be a shooter. That's 2. I'm not sure that's enough though. I do agree with shortening the rotation if that's what it takes though. I get what they're trying to do with Jennifer getting experience, but he's not ready to help...

Watch some games from Deberry early in his career. Watch him now. Let me know if you think he's added anything to his game. Justin Jackson was basically Conner Barwin with more jumping ability year 1. You don't think he improved?

    2015-2016 Season

What we do well... Rebounding Depth/Balance (8-9 legitimate T25 level players) Shut down inferior opponents Block shots Glaring weaknesses: No go to player zone offense (could be bad scheme, debatable) Everything else... average.
