    Temple (Jan 26)

If Temple stays in a zone, I look for a result like the Pitt game - very low scoring since we haven't been too successful cracking zones.

    Ge'Lawn Guyn

I think you guys need to give L-T a break. He has already recanted a lot of what he observed from the beginning of the season and has been saying so especially about Cronin. We all saw the X and NM games and were unnerved by them with lots of doubts. I was one of them. I still have doubts how...

    Ge'Lawn Guyn

Great synopsis, L-T. You and I have been GG's only supporters on this site from the inception. You spelled it out exactly. I'd like to add that he has been improving each game. All the nay-sayers harp on his 3 pt %, but his shots show good form, he's open and, I'm sure, encouraged by Cronin to...

    Good article on Strickland

What he should be doing now is taking lots of classes to get them out of the way, working out in the gym with a trainer (not scholarship affiliated), running lots of suicides on his own, and shooting FT's until he's an 80%er. Then he'll be somewhat ready for next year. The kid got a raw deal...

    Mick Cronin needs some help

Sorry, Waite, I guess I should have said it will be our FIRST test............

    Mick Cronin needs some help

Agree we are overachieving. We are woefully undersized with lack of depth at the 4 and 5. JL , who has not proven himself yet, would be nice to have healthy. We really need him off the bench. That NM game still leaves a bad taste. I attribute that to early season play. The tea just wasn't mature...

    1-3 seed?

You have to get the ball in the crease to shoot that shot which means crisp passing and lots of movement - not perimeter passing.

    1-3 seed?

Whoever figures out how to effectively break Cuse's zone will beat them. Just that nobody has..........yet.

    Cats @ USF 1/18

Waite, overall, you're right - TC is the better of the two. That being said, my response was to JJ5 trashing GG in comparison to TC. My stress was on D. GG locks down his man on D while TC often loses his. TC has the better floor perspective, but he doesn't have the handles of GG. He is more...

    Cats @ USF 1/18

So when we were not in a zone D, GG guarded Allen and Heath pretty much. Let's see what they scored → 3 points combined! GG also had 3 boards and didn't toss the ball away. Maybe we should just let him get splinters on the bench? I just wish he would penetrate occasionally. I loved that fast...

    OT NCAA Basketball discussion

You're right, JJ5. And it's not just Cincy with those voting stats. Our populace can all get out and vote for American Idol or DWTS, but for something as important as how our country is run we get a pathetic voter turnout. I'm done off topic. Go Cats!. Beat USF! That's the focus today.

And that's why we have 9 Supremes - not just Scalia. Each interprets the Constitution in their own way. Roe v. Wade = perfect example. I love when a verdict that goes through the entire justice system is handed down, and then the losing side still wants to fight the decision. Do you identify...

    OT NCAA Basketball discussion

Waite, what should have been done, and what should be done, is to castrate all these rapists/murderers and child molesters - preferably with no anesthetic. Then we could start a thread to debate if some NBA/NFL coach would recruit them (they draft all the other criminals). Unfortunately...

    point guard duties

Actually, go back to the tapes, see who GG guarded and what their output was. I think you'll be surprised that he's consistently shutting down the opposition's best scoring guards. Caupain is good, but too frequently loses his man. He makes up for some of that on the offensive side of the ball.

    Isn't SK #2?

    Team Health

On one of Cronin's interviews, or his show, he specifically said he will not bring him back too soon because JL has a career ahead of him , and Cronin didn't want to jeopardize it. There is no reason to risk permanent or prolonged injury just to get a few W's. He'll play when he plays. Go Cats!

    19 ap top 25

I realize that. I was talking strictly from a coach's psychological standpoint. Optimally, I would like to be #1 and undefeated, and tell all the others to "come and get me". And eventually somebody would (unless you were UCLA from the Wooden era, or Bobby Knights Indiana, or North Carolina, or...

    19 ap top 25

Being ranked is fodder for opposing coaches. I wish we kept playing well but remained just out of the Top 25. If I'm the opposing coach trying to motivate my team, I'm emphasizing slaying the giant. Also, congrats to the team for making it there. You've grown a lot in a short time. Don't let it...

    Rutgers @ home, Saturday 1/11

That's what I fight all the time since if it tastes good, it's no good for you. You hit my current philosophy on the spot - work out so as not to injure yourself. I'm 66 so I only lift if it doesn't hurt (210 max bench). Some ex I can no longer do because I can feel it's not good for me. Good...

After I did the Body for Life Program years ago, I wondered why my bulk didn't increase. My competition body-builder friend advised me that I had reduced my body fat so much that I wasn't going to bulk up, just maintain what I had built during the program. I was like you (only smaller). I went...
