If I have 7 days to practice against your sets and you have 4 to practice against mine, there is an advantage in preparation. Does that mean I will win? No, but to say more prep time doesn't help (especially with a coach who has won 2 national championships) I think is wrong. Ultimately you have to execute what you practice, something UC failed to do against X from the coaches to the players.

That's why I worded it as logic would tell you. Obviously having more prep time should be an advantage over less, I just don't think it makes as big a difference in reality. I partly was just trying to play devil's advocate as I will do from time to time to get a good debate. But, in the routine of a season (and Bearcat NTS kind of alluded to this) you're used to playing every 3 or 4 days. So at the same time you're used to prepping every 3 or 4 days for a team. And another thing that could happen is having too much time to think about things makes you more tentative, maybe make you overthink things. In football, for example, back-ups usually perform better when coming into a game unprepped than having a week to prepare knowing he's the starter.

Exactly right. That is why I love the conference tournaments so much. There is something special about having no time off between games to think about how you played the night before. Also I love when an underdog comes up with some radical change (like starting line-up changes, going zone, etc). In late January you can over think a game plan and come out flat. It typically will take about 10-15 minutes of game time to get back into rhythm.

I think Cincy will be focused for this one and not be looking passed them for Loserville. Cincy will get a good double digit win. And with the whole respect thing and SK being taken off the Wooden Watch list, I think SK will come out and be on FIRE and go for 30 some points. SK will have a huge game, and Jackson will be doing what he has been doing all conference play. Cincy will roll past Temple.

Yeah tournaments and postseason play more towards who the smarter basketball teams are and who has the best chemistry as there is less time to prep for opponents. Especially in conference play, you can begin to prep (coaching-wise) for teams most of the year as far as knowing your opponent and gauging a gameplan, especially against a team/coach you've played twice a year for the last umpteen years. I've heard Cronin in the past say he'll have his assistants looking ahead to future opponents to scout a gameplan. In tourneys you don't have the time to really scout a team so you rely more on your strengths and simplifying things, like play zone or man-to-man as opposed to reallly breaking down a strategy for different line-ups, etc.

I'm hearing UC is favored by 6. I think that's nuts, but that sure backs up everyone that's nervous.

RPIforecast has this as a 7.6 point margin, so the line isn't that far off. I've been worried about this game since the first game with Temple ended. Putting it before Louisville makes it that much worse.

Road league game will be a challenge no matter the circumstance. Just look around the country to find countless examples.

IMO, though, after a close first 30-minutes or so I think the Cats will wear down Temple and head to Loserville 8-0 in the AAC.

Vegas has Cats 6.5

Want to see Rubles get a double double GG drive and create some free throw attempts, assist, layups, etc.
SK and JJ do their thing

Cats-74
Owls-60

As I stated earlier I expect a W. How easy or how hard depends on how the game is called. If we get in foul trouble we will struggle. Especially with JL sidelined. This team being 18-2 is a huge accomplishment for the team. Regardless of the SOS. We have outperformed the talking heads projections by a wide margin. Go Cats.

I think the Bearcats go over 70 today...72-64 Cincinnati. I think they will be very focused in prep (but not overlooking Temple) for what they know is ahead. I think Temple will get ahead early, UC will take the lead at some point in the first half and control the game the rest of the way.

I think KJ and Thomas will be factors today. TC will break out of his slump and JJ will have a big game.

If Temple stays in a zone, I look for a result like the Pitt game - very low scoring since we haven't been too successful cracking zones.

Taking forever for gametime to get here. I hope the Cats come out focused and don't pick up early fouls. We are the better team so we should take care of business. League road games always can be tough especially when you have a number next to your name. That puts the other fans in hyper mode. We need a good start to keep the crowd quiet.

No doubt! I am worried about picking up quick fouls. It seems to be a regular thing the past 4 games.

It's taking so long to get here. Been waiting all day for 4 o'clock to get here

The Memphis south florida game before us better not go late like they always do on cbssports network

Watching it right now. They just went to the under 8 media timeout at 7:35. It's a blow out, can there be a running clock? LOL.

Oh, and remember Dominic Woodson? That guy has to be 300lbs, looks fat and slow. Will need to lose a lot of weight to be a contributor.
