'10 Binghamton (possible transfer) F Greer Wright

If the kid can shoot, he will get PT. I actually think he would play a decent amount but I just want to temper expectations because we all tend to get a little too excited about things like this, if it even happens.

I think "if" Bishop works his way back onto the team that he'll have a good season. There are some hurdles that require some very hard work on his part and it will benefit him and the team.

Greer would give the team a solid back up and I'd expect 15 solid minutes a game from him. Is he a difference maker? In the sense that he will come in ready to play he is. He is also a solid defender and rebounder from the 3.

One year on his scholly and ready to play. It's a win/win for Mick Cronin and the basketball team. Now if the NCAA will clear the way it'll all be good.

Based on what I'd read and heard, If he is granted immediate eligibility, he will be a Bearcat. Always hesitant to pull that trigger but feel pretty good saying that.

Sounds good to me. I say MC has nothing to lose by taking him.

Any idea on how long a decision will take on this? I know waiting on the NCAA can be a hassle. I got to think if it's an issue of where a player is going to school next year it would be a top priority so a player can make plans and get on campus.

Greer Wright will play and contribute. Probably will see 10-15 minutes a game and will give us somebody that can score off the bench. Average from 3 but good skills and will rebound.

If Wright avg 15 min a game I will pay off your mortgage.

Think I said 10-15. Get your checkbook out. He's being rented for a year to add depth and help as a true 3. That will enable Mick to keep the backcourt rotation to Cash, Parker, Kilpatrick, and either Dixon or Davis. He is also being brought here in case Bishop doesn't meet the demands put on him to return to favor. I'm not telling you he'll be a star but he will play.

I will be very surprised if Bishop is not with UC next year. I think he would've been dismissed already if Mick was going to do it.

I don't see Greer taking minutes from Wilks who will be a player that's been in the system for 4 years.

Schools that were recruiting him were mostly looking to fill a spot, same as UC. If he plays 10-15 mins a game, UC is in serious trouble.

Wilks will see his minutes at the 4 this year. Although I would like to see what he could do at the 3, I don't see that happening.

I can see Wilks being very valuable next year with time at both the 3 and 4 positions. It allows them to to run more, be more athletic. Plus, if a team goes zone, he can set up outside and shoot the three..extending the D. He and Bishop are key next year, as UC has got to have production out of the 3 spot (aside from moving SK or another guard there).

Agree with you 100%.

Wilks is and will always be a 4, but the point you made is well taken.

Bishop, Parker and SK will be the likely candidates for the 3 as we'll see mostly a 3 guard offense.

The Wright kid could really help as a filler who is a natural three along with Bishop (if he is back).

If Chane Behanan is an undersized 4 at 6'7" 250 lbs then what is Wilks? He is not a true 4. He is not a true 3. He is a tweener. To say he "is and will always be a 4" is not correct. The problem for Wilks is he doesn't have a true position. He is closer to a 3 than a 4 though IMO.

Totally agree Jason, he's a tweener, cept this time its not between a 2 and 3. He actually fits the 3 mode better, aside from the fact he's more of a set shooter, and is still learning how to drive to the basket. However....James White improved a whole bunch as a senior (as did Fletch and Brannon), and its time for Wilks to provide consistent play.
I can't determine what's the best story to watch:

Cash, Wilks, the two new guys, Bishop, JK, Gates. Lots of questions.

He cannot handle well enough to be a 3, he doesn't have the lateral quickness to defend a 3, his decision making is too questionable to be a 3. What I should have said is that in UC's offense he will always be a 4, with the lack of depth in the frontcourt he will play almost exclusively at the 4.
